Thanks for coming, i am writing a story and i need your help i need cliches, Fantasy cliches, in this story the characters are going to use the cliches for RPG games and fantasy novels in his own benefit, the gaming part i get it more or less tought but even when i had read a few fantasy novels i would like to see what cliches you guys think that are more common.

-Ancient prophecy foretelling the coming of a Chosen One (the hero)
-Elves being just plain better
-Dwarves being dwarves
-Impractical female armor
-Magic sword

In general, it might help to peruse <<tvtropes.org/|tvtropes.org>> if it's a trope/chiché-heavy work. Do be careful though, it may ruin your life...

What? That happens all the time in high fantasy.

Don't do that, the story will suck. Take the core concepts and actually attach good writing to them. So Konosuba. Watch Konosuba. It literally does what you're looking for, plays tropes and cliches perfectly straight, but applies very subtle twists to make it interesting.

Item you had with yourself for entire journey turns out to be artifact needed for defeating BBEG.

McGuffin you were on journey to find turns out to be said item.

McGuffin you were on journey to find turns out to be in your family house. On other side of world.

You are forced for one reason or other to return to home city. Home city is in ruins.

BBEG or his/her/its minions ruined home city for no real reason.

BBEG have no knowledge of McGuffin that's his/her/its weakness.

McGuffin is BBEG's ONLY weakness.

Ultimate weapon looks ridiculous.

Ultimate weapon have worse stats than what you used earlier. But you need to use it because its only weapon that hurts BBEG.

BBEG is someone from your past.

BBEG is alternate yourself.

BBEG offers you to join him/her/it

You replace BBEG in order to break his/her/its organization from inside.

Someone is referred to by wrong gender. In games where you pick gender its mostly due to coding error.

There is at least one quest that's not possible to complete because crucial item and/or npc refuse to spawn.

Evil Dragons. Prophecies about main character. Scrolls. Chosen ones. Thief girls. Elven archers. Runes. Crystals of power. The Evil Lord. Wizards. Obviously evil advisor to the King. Forbidden woods filled with dark secrets. The King is dead. Evil fortress in/on a volcano. Princess in danger. Ugly race of evil enemies. Beautiful race of good allies. The magical sword.
