Replacing posts with updates
I was curious: is there a means of directly replacing an image you've posted (so that comments and ratings are preserved) with a cleaner update? Or it a case of having to post the new image and delete the older one (presumably by flagging it as an outdated duplicate)?

To my knowledge, I don't think a -booru infrastructure allows straight up replacing one image with another like that. At least, Dan and Gelbooru don't, as far as I know. This site may run on a different engine, for want of a better word.

Is that so? Guess I'll have to replace entirely rather than update.

Thanks for the info!

Ratings can be preserved, but comments can not.

To do this make the post that you want to delete as the child of the post you want the votes to be transferred to. Then you delete the child post, and the votes should transfer over. There will be a <<puu.sh/tCHWE.png|confirmation>> before it actually gets deleted and tell you if you've done it correctly, though you may lose the ability to delete a post if it is over 1-2 weeks old and may need to contact a mod for that.

Thank you very much! That's very useful to know.
