Idea to keep begging for requests down
I'm not the only one who's noticed, but there have been some members that have been a bit aggressive in their requests for certain characters getting more art/captions of them done. While I do tend to roll my eyes when this sort of thing happens (because it does feel like there's a sense of entitlement to these kind of comments with some of the more aggressive requests), I also think it's a good idea to not ignore requests if it'll bring more content to HH or bring people to commission manippers/artists in the future.

My idea was this: have a stickied thread where people post ideas or what they want to see more of. Artists/manippers can then browse it and pick and choose which ones sound interesting to them to do as a side project or pet project. If the person requesting it is offering to commission for it, then it'll help facilitate communication between that prospective commissioner and any interested artists/manippers. This in turn should build a clientele for artists and manippers. In the case of manips/captions, the requester/commissioner would need to provide the image(s) that they want in that work, as well as what kind of caption or manip they want to see. Manippers need to be met halfway with this idea, after all.

I was also thinking, in order to avoid an overload, that each member would be limited to one request a week, so this could be a weekly thing that's set to occur on a specific day. If no one picks that request or commission offer, that member can try again the next week with the same offer or perhaps a different one. Sadly, this won't stop people from using multiple accounts to try and get multiple requests in, but I think it would be easy to spot the same person using multiple accounts to make the same request. If not, the mods should have the ability to track IP addresses, and take appropriate action.

Just an idea I had to improve what I thought could be a growing issue, since I saw people commenting about it in comments and on the Vent Room. If this idea doesn't pan out or seems too much of a hassle, that's fine. Just wanted to try and resolve the issue in a beneficial way for everyone. And yes, I am aware that this may lead to an influx of characters or themes/kinds of MC that I and others might not like. But I'm willing to put up with it; kept my mouth shut on certain themes and characters getting a lot of uploads or having a sudden burst of them in a day, so I won't make an issue out of something I disagree with if this idea pans out. Blacklist is there for a reason. :P

I'd like the mods to weigh in on this idea, mainly. But any comments from regular commissioners and artists/manippers would also be appreciated, just to get their perspective on this idea.

If threads could get faved, I'd done this to this one.

So what, the hypnohub equivalent of a draw thread? I'm on board.

So one did get made, it just got buried a year ago and not stickied. It also didn't really follow the ideas I had to keep it under control. Which means the problem wasn't and isn't solved. :P

If you think that's bad, you should see the manip request thread. Some people posted dozens of images at a time.

Ugh.. >.o

That's why I want a one request/commission per week rule set in. Gives everyone breathing room.

I feel that the requests should just be redirected to the appropriate thread. There's already a manip request thread, an art request thread, and a thread for more things they would like to see (iirc). They don't have the rules you suggested, though at the same time I'm not sure it needs it.

Sticky threads are reserved for more important announcements or policies.

Having one commission/request per week gives someone breathing room only if said person is actively trying to fulfill every single request. To my knowledge that has never happened, and we won't be/can't force artists/manippers to fulfill requests.

But if a group of artists or manippers get together and decide to try fulfilling every single request something like what you suggested could certainly be made =P If they're just browsing and choosing what they like, the current threads already allow them to do that.

I feel like you'd still run into a snag anyway, since afaik there's a pretty sizable portion of users that don't bother with the forums at all [and the sorts of people who're begging a lot probably aren't the sort to stop and consider...anything much besides what they want, and bother checking]

Trying to think up solutions is a good thing, though, of course.
