New theme Idea

Hello Everyone

we all know that the monthly themes went down a while ago, but I was thinking that a new one should be instated, Character themes. each month a new character is chosen and all artwork based on that character uploaded that month is put into a pool (much like the old themes). this way characters that don't have a lot of posts or are inactive could receive a boost in posts thus adding a variety to whats being posted. these characters can be from games, shows or even hypnohub creations such as Crystal(zko) or Betty(psi).

This actually seems like a great idea, especially the bit about doing it for characters without much artwork of them on the hub

This could work. Could help satisfy some users desires of wanting to see certain characters from fandoms they don't get the spotlight like the want and/or should.

Hmm. I actually don't like this, because I think it will be difficult for the admins to implement, and if done by the community will encourage clique behavior.

The admins would have to verify a picture hasn't been uploaded yet, at a quality resolution. You also get into problems when an artist exercises their rights over an IP, if that happens at scale than it creates community tension. Finally, uploading 50 images of the same character might break the same ground as say, uploading 50 manga pages.

Then at the community level: what are tags that you just won't upload? Will you cater to a specific preference? Why won't you cater to my fetish preference? Are you not uploading "my" pictures because you think they are ugly? I think when you start to answer those questions you'll form a clique of like minded people, which is good up to a point. You will get asked some variation of the above. Sometimes, it will be justified. With rp'ers it is kind of natural. I think it could get dicey with characters.

Here we got main issue, even listing such exceptions you pick more popular ones, which seems to be against intention of such new theme months.

The Admins wouldn't have to do anything per se, just approve of it. Anyone on the site can make a pool, though it would probably be a moderated one.

The other issues you mention apply to the site as a whole.

I'm all for it. It'll be nice to give characters with not much art some love. (And maybe if I ever get a good reference for my OCs I'll be able to benefit from this)
