Samurai Jack
After almost more than 10 years ago, when Samurai Jack ended in 2004, the show has finally made its return tonight. Did anyone watch it? Impressions?

Hell yeah!

I was worried that they would leave some of the weirdness out but as soon as I saw the robot playing a flute that controlled rocks, my worries were put aside. Also, the scenery was really beautiful!

Don't have cable, so I'm going to have to wait for it to show up on KissCartoon or something.

The moment the woman and her child talked with symbols over their heads I knew it was back.

The way the robot talked confirmed that he was just the right kind of bad guy.

So I'm going to ask a question for anyone reading this.

What is your favorite episode?

For me it's the Princess and the bounty hunters. It just shows how badass Jack really is.

The were all so skilled and powerful, had a plan that seemed perfect...But in a matter of seconds he took them out and didn't even need to look at them. The scene at the end where the princess drops her knives and Jack just keeps walking.

For him this was literally nothing.

I liked the robot as well. I actually didn't recognise the voice actor. I can't believe it was Tom Kenny aka Spongebob.

Favourite episode hmmm?
Hard to say.

I have 2; one for favourite fight scene and one for favourite character,

First is Samurai vs Ninja
Second is Jack meets the Scotsman

That was Tom Kenny holy shit I so didn't recognize him at all. He was great in that easy to forget how talented he is since he's played SpongeBob for so long.

But Jack meets the Scotsman is probably my second favorite as well, actually just lump every time he shows up as a collective second place.

And you can't forget about

It's been a while since I've watched the episodes and my memory is a little fuzzy, Which episode is that from again?

Also do you remember the insult the Scotsman hurls at Jack? The really long one?
Here's the clip if you don't: www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-LyFMCIpok

I actually recently found out that each insult actually has a meaning behind it.

I copied a comment from the video that translated it:

Full Translation into English.---------------------------------"What do you think of that,
Mr. Pajama-Wearing = Insult to his clothes.
Basket-Face = Insult to his hat.
Slipper-Wielding = insult to his shoes.
Clype-Dreep-Bachle = From the gutter / Out of it / at his last straw - Old / worn out.
Gether-Uping-Blate-Maw = Mommy's Boy.
Bleathering = Speaking a load of crap.
Gomeril = Dog
Jessie = Pansy / Sissy / Girl
Oaf-Looking = Look like a retard.
Scooner = A half pint aka short man. OR Stauner = Dick / Erect penis (Basically calling him stupid)
Nyaff = Out of date
Plookie = Dumbass / stupid looking
Shan = person who speaks and comes from an ethnic minority.
Milk-Drinking = Pussy / Guy who can't handle his drink.
Soy-Faced Shilpit = Insulting him as an asian stereotype.
Mim-Moothed = Small speaker (not big with his words / speaks submissively)
Sniveling = Complainer / Moans about stuff.
Worm-Eyed = Small minded / Can't see for heck
Hotten-Blaugh = Waste of space
Vile-Stoochie = Dirty / Unclean
Cally-Breek-Tattie = Extremely Lazy / Can't lift a finger"

It was Tales of the Samurai where Aku told a bunch of stories to kids to try and get them to like him

I knew what some of those insults meant but getting a translation of a few was helpful.

Oh yeah! I kinda remember that episode. Do you think they'll have any episodes like that or not because we're only getting 10 episodes?

I bet it'll be too plot heavy to have something as silly and unrelated as that. Though it would be nice to get just one super dumb episode.

Like the one with the farting dragon, that's in my top 10 just due to how absurd the whole thing was.

I love the show, I loved the relaunch and I'm absolutely overjoyed to see it on the air again.

I can't honestly pick a favorite episode. There's so many I like equally well it's impossible to say for sure. I'd say at least half the episodes of the show contend for the best episode.

I've seen shows come back from seasonal breaks and end up FUBAR. This one is so spot-on after 10+ years, it feels like the last episode aired just last week.

Favorite episode up to this point would probably be the one with the Thunderdome homage. That or the Marauders/Ultra-Bots. Basically Jack against 23 minutes worth of enemies in both cases, having to figure out a way around their styles.

Growing up, I thought it was unfortunate that the U.S. didn't have much in the way of pure action animation, and those two eps in particular scratched that itch.

You know, those kids would have to be all grown up in the series timeline by now (assuming they weren't... executed). I wonder if there's any possibility of them making a comeback, as a sort of resistance movement.

Speaking of impressionable youth, I wonder if the butterfly effect from this revival means we'll be getting some art of the DJ dude from the rave episode >.>
