"Getting hypnotized" sound effects/background noise?
Figured this is by far the best place to ask this.

Put simply, I may have some hypno commissions in the works that would do well to have a hypnosis sound effect of some kind. All the ones I find online are either not what I'm looking for or cost money. Anyone have and good sources? I'd appricate it.

I don't think there's a universal sound effect for it. Depends on the method/type of induction. Like that "boooo" sound the Naruto series used whenever Ino possessed somebody, because it was instant possession and invoked the sound of her consciousness rushing across the space between her and her target, or the famous Jungle Book "ding" used because the induction meant a cataleptic event when completed.

In short: give us the deets.

I'm looking for something much longer that would pretty much last the entire induction. I guess a good example would be the hypno toad's iconic humming sound, or the magic-ish sound effect when the Ghost Clown from Scooby Doo uses his coin. Just something that can compliment a video-length hypnosis, whether it be magical or otherwise.

All I can imagine is the Tardis sound rn...
Hypnosis always seemed like a longer process to me than a single sound. <<m.youtube.com/watch?v=sggr_NSVY_4|This thing, though>> always slunded pretty hypnotic to me. There's more songs from other games, all instrumental... Usually meditative misic is pretty heavy on the "whongg" and such. Might look them up if anyone wants that.

In case you didn't mean a proper song but a shorter sound instead, perhaps the rising strings and ping from Kaa hypnotising Bagheera might do it?

Yeah not so much a proper song, more of a looping sound of some kind. A hum, a spiraling sound, something like that.

The Bagheera sounds are a little bit closer to what I'm talking about, but it needs to be something that can loop. The Tardis is also a nearly good pick, but it's a little bit loud and screechy.

EDIT: You know all those stupid spiral videos all around youtube? www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ7Ysa_NuZY

Basically the kind of sounds you'd find in these, or something similar.

Maybe googling for some variation of binaural beats or isochronic tones might yield some reslults.

Also, the top comment of that video was pretty funny.

So there's this pretty great site I've only just remembered -
the more complicated programming course with whom we share some classes was supposed to implement a chosen sound in an exercise. A creaking door to be precise, but they could add any sounds they wanted. I wanted to give it a try and I did and failed :P But the site's pretty fun, anyways.
<<www.freesound.org/|Freesound.org>> has a ton of short and longer sounds.

Some sounds I picked that loop very well, but maybe you can find more/better ones to suit your needs:
- <<www.freesound.org/people/suonho/sounds/27567/|A mesmerising sound.>>
- <<www.freesound.org/people/Sclolex/sounds/177958/|Water dripping in a cave.>>
- <<www.freesound.org/people/Corsica_S/sounds/197714/|Ocean sounds!>>

I remember an episode of gilligans island, "The Friendly Physician"; while it wasn't hypno there was a sort of "woo-ing" sound effect that played when the characters had their brains switched (real crazy episode). If anybody can find it or something similar. Please let me know

I've done this before! You wanna look for 'sci-fi' sound effects. There are lot of sound effects for things like hovering UFOs or strange machines, lasers, that can definetly be repurposed for a hypno video. Many things go 'woowoowooowoo' xD

Here's a waterphone for a possible suggestion if you want to look for sound effects like that.

Here's a notable bar of music featuring the instrument.

Reminds me of Alphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II (especially Lichen) and the soundtrack of Spirits |=(:3

But I guess you're looking for some sounds made by this duder: www.youtube.com/watch?v=46w99bZ3W_M&t=4m36s

It's a strange thought, but a friend once told me that listening to the didgeridoo made her feel like she was being hypnotized... binaural beats might be a better, less-folkloric option, though! ;)

If you don't want to worry about copyright and license issues, you can make your own beats in Audacity in less than a minute. <<en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats|Wikipedia will tell you everything you need to know.>>

Believe it or not, I actually made something that I think you're looking for. I have it in an audacity file.

If you want, I could send you the file. Be warned, not my best edit.

Sounds like something similar to vibraphones or something.

Alright.

Though you might need to download audacity to be able to use it.

I made another one recently, I think yesterday.

I'll put both the files in Vocaroo so I can find a way to properly give the files to you.
