Thoughts on the show "13 reasons why"
Before I begin, let me warn people that haven't heard of this show that it is dark and all kinds of messed up.
The series follows socially awkward Clay as he listens to casette tapes left behind by Hannah, who recently comitted suicide. In those tapes, she states 13 reasons why she did it.
On that cheerful note, please remember the existence of <<hypnohub.net/forum/show/44668|the reference for those in need thread>>. If you haven't clicked the spoiler and haven't watched the show, you know what you're in for now.
I'm only 3 episodes in right now. It's bringing back all those memories about the absolute ugliest parts of highschool, but at the same time I remember that hey, I got through it. I got through it pretty well even with
stuff like guys grabbing my ass after some rumour and me spinning right around delivering the hardest sounding slap you've ever heard
, and all I can think so far is how bad people are at communicating in this show - but not because of writing flaws, no, because of character flaws. That's strong writing and I am impressed by that.
Stil, I can't help but dislike H. ... She's socially apt, not stupid, makes friends very easily, but she can't figure out that C. isn't built that way. Not everyone knows how to pick up on those social cues you know. And there are some
inconsistencies like her being brave/angry enough to storm into the boy's locker room but not brave enough to slap that asshole's face off when he gropes her in the liqor store
.
Have you watched it? On Netflix, apparently there's no "if you're in need" message at viewing it there, but I don't know if that's true. Did you like the show?
Do you think my opinion will change throughout viewing, or no?
Personally, I don't mind spoilers for this show, but for others remember you can put it between a spoiler tag :) thanks!
