While I don't think we need an entire new thread just for this as those threads are supposedly for any instances of hypnosis, male or female (even if there are more instances of hypnosis happening to one gender than another). But for the sake of discussion, I suppose I could put in my theory as for why there seems to be more female sub's over male subs.
1) Most of the people (not all, however) here on this site were either inspired by either hypnosis in anime, cartoons, or games we played/saw as a child. Now that we've grown up, so have our interests "evolved" into the kink that has lead us onto this site. Our kink is not one of the most popular of them, and finding anything that is catered towards us is very uncommon. Most Visual Novels in Japan that involve hypnosis just use it as a quick gimmick for easy sex. Porn either has "faked hypnosis involving women" or the woman hypnotising the audience. There isn't an equal fem-male sub/dom ratio. It seems that most of this fetish is seemed to be catering to the average "straight" male person.
2) I hate to admit this, but as my own opinion, I find that most people don't know what to do with a male-sub. In shows, the female is usually hypnotised to either a) betray the team/friends and join the villian, (Ex. totally spies) b) be an accidental victim which usually leads to the protagonist(s) to find the problem/what causing the hypnosis (Ex: pokemon), c) NTR (Ex: search up any hypno-doujins of your favourite anime, and you'll probably find one).d) Corruption (though this can happen to both male or female) and e) Humiliation ( while both fall under this category, their is a clear difference between male-to-female humiliation) (Ex: Monster Musume) There are probably others that I'll probably think of later, but for now this is good enough. However, in most cases, if the Male is subbed, it's usually for two cases (not counting the corruption). a) used as a means for their strength/power. They aren't "betraying the team" by any means, just being used to hinder them or fight them and don't really have any personality of their own while under (Ex: Generator Rex) or b) the "popular" female hypnotises the boys/males so that she'll appear even more popular and has them serving her until they break out of the spell/trance. (Stereotypical Oujo-sama) (Ex: Vampire Rosario). There's lots of male-sub that fall under these categories and I just find that to be very boring, as they don't really try to do anything with it and it just comes off as cliched (though the same can be said for multiple fem-sub instances.)
