Anyone want to join in on the trend of laughing at it instead for a little bit?

Like posting image edits here rather than the main image pool so that maybe we can give the mods something to giggle at? I mean, a new image gets posted every 25 minutes almost on the mark and someone has to delete it, and considering it's almost always done in the hour, maybe we should ease up on their annoyance with some giggles.

(I'd say to avoid actually posting images on the hub itself related to the Nileyhot bot.)

Personally, I'm kind of irritated by this bot because I understand that the people who handle the site's code are working on more pressing matters like the changes that need to be made to ads, and that active mods can delete the posts until they're finished, however it has to be taxing, as it requires someone to delete a post literally every 25 minutes.

Feel free to lock or delete this thread, I just figured taking a minute out to maybe laugh at the bot, or inform the community on what's being done about it or *why* nothing has been done would help things out a bit.

As a mod I will say that yes this thing is a pain.

I'm not good with the coding stuff so I can't help with that part of blocking it. But I do remove all the post and even IP ban the accounts to ensure that the same one can't post more than one picture.

But still it's a massive pain.

I just can't help but wonder what you get if you follow the link. I advise against it, just morbid curiosity like wondering what it's like to grab a powerline.

My gf says it's not even a real Kik account, rather a virus-ladden hellhole, full of malware.

this was inevitable, these "thotbots" as I call them have invaded almost every website; Discord, Skype, Kik, hell they even hit danbooru. Whats odd is they are directing users to a kik instead of dming directly. Even then, kik has been dead for the last few weeks and has been having some server troubles.

If this continues, the era of "Ass and Vagina" photos will continue to fucking up the community.

Can't the admins simply create a script like the one obviously already running to create the accounts the bot is trying to create so the script runs into errors when it tries to create and post spam? Or let all those 'NileyHotxxxx' names generate in an Excel sheet and transfer it to the account database?

Iirc the reason why nothing's being done by the people who can change the site's code, is because they're busy preparing for the changes to ads so that they don't lose ALL their money when chrome rolls out it's ad blocking functions.

Each page holds 20 names each. So with 4 full pages and an unfinished fifth one, that's over EIGHTY accounts and failed attempts at this stupid dating picture thing from this stupid spambot. And the last page says this thing started about 4 days ago so that's an average of TWENTY POSTS A DAY
