The intro rules state

Well I may not be as popular as I once was, but given my upload count, the scores on my manips, my constructive participation in policy discussions, my tagging work, my wiki edits... yeah, if that sentence is true for anyone not already in there, then it probably applies to me. It's not that I don't have a phone, I just don't like giving it out, and that includes Discord.

Not sure how active I'll be, but I figure there's no good reason not to. May I be let in please?

Does it have to be a valid phone number? Company i work for, every end-user needs a unique email address, but it doesn't have to be valid, it's just a placeholder for the db to identify folks as unique.

Can confirm is does have to be valid. You have to confirm it and if it's a throwaway number somehow it knows because I tried one.

Every nsfw server requires the number so it can send it to discord for whatever bloody reason.

I'm operating under the assumption that the admins can make a manual exception on the verification for a single user, since that sentence in the rules makes no sense otherwise.
