Idea - Hypno Story Booru
An idea that I've knocking around for some time now. A booru that uses images as placeholders to provide source links to hypno stories. We could use a central database of all the stories on EMCSA, Furaffinity, Deviantart, Tumblr, ASSTR, etc. etc.

Pretty sure you could do this fairly easily. You can use booru.org to make your own booru for free (the site is owned by our host, slayerduck), and as far as I can tell, at least, there's nothing there that breaks any rules. So long as the images you use for thumbnails don't break any rules, that is.

A story booru is going to be pretty hard to maintain, as it takes a lot longer to determine how to tag it than it takes for a picture. You might need to hack it a little to make it so that mods need to read it and approve/edit its tags before it's posted to the gallery to make sure poor tagging doesn't go unchecked.

(An aside - I actually finally started working on my own story gallery site that will hopefully be a bit more usable in terms of searching than Literotica, FA, IB etc. I mostly want to run cash contests and stuff to get more stories written and link up with Patreon to encourage more people to use that. So I'm hoping to eliminate the need for something like this, anyhow!)

I still need to learn some more about web hosting - from the user end, anyways - and get the frontend details sorted out, but I'll definitely make a post here when it's up. I want all kinds of stories to be posted there, minus ASSTR sort of stories, but I'm primarily doing the whole project as a selfish means to encourage more hypnosis story content anyhow!

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Impractical, considering the volume of stories that exist. There's a tagging system for the EMCSA and it doesn't get abused beyond most stories not having enough tags (but then as it's separate to the actual site, that's not surprising.

A new host is fine, but it doesn't eliminate the need for a central database, as it won't contain old stories and many writers won't know about it.

I know that full well, but there's no point in a database/booru if no one uses it.

EMCSA is curated, as far as I know, by one person who reads everything there, handles all the tagging himself, and it has been built up over many years with him doing just a few stories a week. I don't think you'll be able to expect even that site's level of categorization from less-invested users, and the point of a booru is searchability. You can try it, but you should definitely put some thought into the tagging rules, because they're not necessarily going to be as clear-cut as image tags.

I was referring to Svengali, which is user-run. Searchability is a problem, but not exactly a major impediment. Primarily it relies on people actually reading the stories linked and bothering to tag them.

Aye, I'd love to visit a hypnostory booru if it takes off! ^.^

And there's a lot of nuance and functions with hypnosis that you can describe in so many fancy ways in text, that isn't quite as easy to display in drawn for, and I'd love to see the forums go into even more detail about all the complex ways to be hypno'd~
