I can't believe this is where I found out about it. RIP to a legend
I'm remembering that around a decade ago, Warren Ellis had a collection of essays that he collected into a book called "Do Anything."
It was a bunch of weird stuff that combined the actual history of Jack Kirby and superhero comics with Ellis jerking himself off over weird alternate history that he wished happened. I'm paraphrasing something that stuck out now.
"But of course I hate Stan Lee, right? I mean Stan Lee screwed Kirby over, he stole all his work. At least that's what the narrative is, and there's evidence to back it up. But there's another story. In the 1960s Stan Lee was sick of his work writing kids' comics. He was bored by everything, and he wasn't allowed to write anything that he actually wanted, and on the verge of quitting. So when he talks to his wife one night, she tells him, 'Well, if you're going to leave the job anyway, why not just try writing what you'd like to see and see how long you can get away with it.'
And that was the start of the Bronze Age of comics and everything that we know in superhero comics today.
Do anything."

me either
RIP...
He was a good man and along with Jack Kirby, he and his stories have change the world forever. He's now gone to take his rightful place as The One-Above-All.
I'll leave it at this. To quote one of his cameos:
"Ya know? I guess one person can make a difference. 'nuff said"
No kidding Stan. No kidding

Let us remember all the awesome heroes Stan Lee gave us.
He and Steve Ditko created Spider-man and Doctor Strange.
He and Jack Kirby created Hulk, Fantastic Four, Black Panther and the X-men.
He, Kirby ad Larry Lieber helped create Ant-man, Iron Man and Thor.
Lee also helped create other well known characters such as Daredevil, Black Bolt, Electro, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Doctor Doom, Nick Fury, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, and many, many more.
Stan Lee helped bring us most of the iconic heroes we all know and love today. His death is sad, but let us honor him by recognizing his work for comic books and entertainment as a whole.
Rest in Peace Stan Lee

I have nothing good to say except "Be one with your Marvels".
I was dreading this day since I realized I will be around during a time where stan lee will pass away.
he was a great man and shall be missed
rest in peace

rest in peace
He will be immortalized like few other men in this world's history.
I have a buddy that personally knew him. Not close, but they would meet up and chat at cons Stan attended. Great guy, nothing but respect for everybody, I'm told. Not only was he an amazing creative mind, but also just a decent person, and the world loses too many of those.
Rest peacefully, Mr. Lee.
Rest peacefully, Mr. Lee.
I was very sad to discover this as well.
