Masks are made of the sorrow of those they resemble, while the original person passes on. Kirby Link is still Link, and the real Kirby is no longer involved, so at the moment this is one person.

There actually is a Ghost copy ability that lets Kirby possess enemies, but I digress. Things eaten by Kirby (in his own series) die or are destroyed, while in Smash they are ejected and are free to leave, so this is still just Link wearing a Kirby mask. The demon is gone.

It's at this point we add in Mario and Cappy. 3 people total.
"Possessed Mario throws Cappy at Shantae."
Kirby Link in Mario, then Mario in Shantae. Cappy is external and can't be considered 'inside.' 4 people total, 3 are 'inside.'

Adding Shantae brings us to 5, and finally put Cappy 'inside'. Final tally:
Kirby: Not involved.
Demon: Dead/Destroyed/Gone.

Cappy: Allowing Possessed Mario to Capture Shantae. External and outside Shantae, but 'inside' Samus 3.
Shantae: Controlled by Cappy/Mario controlled by Link. 'inside' 4.
Samus: In trophy form and imprisoned by Galeem somewhere else.
Trick question, there's no one inside Samus. They're all inside a trophy clone.
