I have been made aware on multiple platforms that there is a sudden purge of accounts going on , mainly those that show not safe for work content.

I don't have all the info but thought i'd make a thread about so others know.

I keep seeing conflicting info but the general idea is Apple removed it from the store because the Staff couldn't round up all the Porn Bots so they're going overboard and banning a TON of NSFW accounts, most of which are artists. Sane Scientist was one victim for example.

Some are saying it's a combination of links plus art that results in them thinking you're a bot but I don't know how true that is.

Theres a lot of bots on tumblr that latch onto popular posts with shady links on their reblogs, seen it happen a bunch on some mutuals popular safe arts. But yes the app is currently off the apple store and right now most people believe porn is the blame. I haven't even had a NSFW blog on tumblr for a year and I really hope it doesn't come to it getting purged right when it was gain some level of popularity it felt.

That Tumblr isn't the place to be for artists focusing on adult content isn't that new.

From what I'm being told, Apple basically kicked tumblr in the ass to get them to start moping up Porn Bots, and they're getting a little overzealous. I've also been told a simple appeal should get you back up and running. Nothing to worry about folks.

Yeah, they're not trying to wipe out NSFW artists, just shoddy worksmanship as they try to fight back the waves and waves of porn bots. We're not under attack.

But porn is literally the only reason to ever visit Tumblr. The community is probably the worst on the internet.

Again, legitimately human run porn blogs aren't their intended targets here, it's just what's getting swept up in their attempts to combat bots. Just telling them that you're an actual person seems to be the sole requirement in getting it back.

Yup when looking through my own blogs notes I stumbled onto blogs with some extremely questionable material, once all this started I went back to check and its gone so certainly seems like that front is the target.
