Skyrim Special Edition PC mods
Just bought Skyrim Special Edition on PC, and was curious if anyone knew any good mods? (Preferably Hypnosis themed, of course!) There was a post like this three years ago, but it focused on Console mods, and didn't want to necro.

I know Oldrim had a Sexlab mod that gave you a magic circlet, that if you gave it to an NPC would mind control them and let you do a lot of neat things with them as a result, however it's such an old mod that I'm pretty sure it's not compatible with SE. And that's the only explicitly MC mod I ever came across.

Yeah I saw that one too and tried to get it working to no avail. It looked like a good mod too. Though I was attempting to manually install, so good chance j just also messed up trying to install it.

So Oldrim used BSA files for a lot of more complex mods, which are incompatible with SE, meaning that to convert a mod from Oldrim to SE you have to extract the files and repackage them in a form that SE can understand.

So I just gotta figure out how to do that then.

There should be tutorials somewhere. I'm not tech savvy enough to try it myself, but if you really wanna convert the mod go ahead. Keep in mind that even if the conversion goes 100% smoothly, there is still a chance of weirdness since it is Skyrim after all.

Time to search for a tutorial, cause I really wanna try this mod.

Sadly no go, can't get them to pop up in the load order. Gonna need to either wait for someone smart then me to solve it, or wait for someone to maybe one day update/ make a hypno mod for special edition

perhaps if you get in contact with the creator
or spread word about it in some skyrim mod forums others can help.
I'm sure the know how is out there.

What steps have you taken for converting? Mod organizer to help keep it neat? Convert to form 44 via creation kit? BSA has been extracted and removed? All the NIF files are properly converted?

If yes to all of these, I've got nothing. Good luck!

Just checked apparently the mind control mod is actually Special Edition compatible, so I must be making an error somewhere

It's a Sexlab mod. 90% of the time those mods require the Sexlab Framework and an animation pack.

Finaly got a reply from the developer of the circlet mod, pasting below

My plans with SE are to spend some time next year and see if the mods in my load orders exist in SE.

Once I move to SE, I will not be going back to the old version, so I have to see first if I can get my usual mods there.

If nothing critical is missing, I will work on upgrading all my mods.

Until then, I prefer to work on improving and completing my mods instead of wasting time chasing conversion issues.
