SO recently, Mumkey Jones has had his channel taken down, and it seems to be for completely BS reasons, and I'm posting EVERYWHERE I Can about this,
I love this site, I really really do, and I absolutely love the community, so I'm begginh you guys, to raise your voices for this one guy.
Tweet at Youtube, saying #SaveMumkey
Tweet at other big youtubers, beg them to raise awareness on it, comment on their videos about it.
Go on to every site you know that lets you say ANYTHING TO ANYONE, and tell everyone!
PLEASE PEOPLE, this isn't my channel, I'm just a longtime fan and it's helped me through a lotta tough times, and it's completely BS how this has happened, so I would consider it a MASSIVE FAVOR TO ME, if you would do anything at all to help.
Please, thank you, and, even if you do nothing...thank you for at least giving it a bit of thought.

Isn't he like an alt-lite, pseudo-political creator? I only heard kind of bad things about this guy.

Yeah, uh... I never heard of this guy, so I just did some research on him looking up various sources online about what he and his content is like.

This guy seems to have gotten exactly what he deserves, if i'm being honest.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I'm not super up to date with Youtube and the popular channels, and I'd never watched his stuff, but I did hear that he makes some questionable remarks that some would consider a little off-limits (and here, "off-limits" is a euphemism for borderline super racist). These are second-hand remarks, so I'm not sure, but if it's true I'm certainly not interested.

At the risk of placing a target on my own back, and clarifying that while I am not a fan of Mumkey Jones and have never seen a direct video of him (I know him because of cameos or reviews of his books and movie) I must say that I'm rather disappointed with the response.

Censorship is censorship, whatever the reason and whatever the place. A creator having their main media of communication deleted without warning or way of recovery is downright abusive and immoral. He might have done racist commentary, either seriously or as a joke, but that is no reason to infringe someone's right to express themselves to the public.

If we are against the censorship of porn in tumbrl, we should be against any kind of censorship, and this is no different. Porn artist did no one wrong and were banned anyway because of moral reasons. An edgy comedian did no one wrong and was banned because of moral/political reasons. Different package for the same shit.

Remember that only bad ideas and ideologies need censorship to survive. Let the artist produce and the public will judge. Bad artists will die a natural death as the public shuns and ignores them, there should be no need for censorship in a healthy environment.

As always, apologies for the bad English. It's not my mothertongue and some mistakes slip trough the cracks.

This isn't censorship. He can still say what he wants. Just not on YouTube. And as a private company that's YouTube's right. Unless you think we need to regulate or nationalize YouTube?
