What constitutes mc?
Do you think inebriation counts as a form of mc?
There's a small community of people on deviantart who fetishize things like concussions, would that count as mc?

Mind control means something or someone manipulates the person.

An inebriation doesn't count as a mc because he or she fell confusing by accident. If it does, that means hammer is a hypnosis things.

I swear I've seen mc stuff here that doesn't fit that criteria, but I'm not sure.

I'd say mind control is about taking over part or all of a person's consciousness and replacing it with another's. Inebriation doesn't count as MC because there's no guarantees that the inebriated person will follow any orders, act according to anyone's will, or be able to be manipulated. Concussion, similarly, is not MC because there's no replacement of will. At best, what you're doing is moving an unconscious person't body around, which is kind of comparable to taking a dead person and propping them up on a chair or something. The key part of MC is always going to be the suppression of conscious will - so the person needs to at least act like they're still alive.

Body control is the closest thing on this website that's comparable to the things you mention, and I would personally argue body control doesn't count as mind control.

What about things like brain drain which don't necessarily make someone obedient?

I mean, it's always arguable, and this is all my personal point of view (people tend to have varying criteria anyway), but I would say brain drain doesn't count unless there's some replacement either. Same with lobotomy. The way I see it is, "mind control" is about "control of the mind". So, you can have an empty mind, or a lack of mind, or an absence of mind, but if there's nothing and no one assuming control, then I don't consider it mind control per se. Possession is an interesting fringe case, but because the original host's consciousness is replaced, I'd still consider it mind control. EDIT: Also, I didn't mention emotional control like love potions and stuff - I would still categorize it in the same kind of vein as mind control, if only because there's an exterior modification of someone's attitude and behavior towards someone else. It might not be exactly the same, but it's close enough that it's often related.

Now all that said, if a situation like brain drain can be spun so that an outside party can still benefit from it, then it's probably debatable. But I wouldn't consider it "straight" MC in any case.
