Question: What is the Hub's policy on purchased content from blacklisted artists?
Title^

To reiterate, may I post content from artists that have been blacklisted if that content is something that I bought and own?

You're not really allowed to upload stuff that's behind a paywall (such as Patreon) to begin with, let alone from blacklisted artists.

EDIT: If you're referring to commissions, make sure to get permission from the artist and even then, it might not stay.

This was something that came up a couple weeks ago, with an artist named "Croc". Someone had purchased a hypnosis-themed commission from the artist, gotten permission from the artist to upload it here, but then the mods got to a-bickering over the semantics of the rule regarding the DNP (Do Not Post) list, which is the list Croc is on. Iirc, it ended up being that the mod that initially deleted it for being on the DNP list "won" and it stayed deleted.

Yeah, seems like the mods have changed their minds about getting permission from the artist to post DNP art. It used to be fine for people to post art they commissioned from me even though I was DNPed, but recently I made a gift for Defcon7 that was deleted even though I gave my permission to have it uploaded. A mod told me I had to be taken off the DNP list in order for the piece to stay up.

That's asinine. The purpose of the DNP list should be to allow artists control over where their art is posted. Saying either all of your art has to be able to be posted or none of it takes that control away.

should we have a DNPWP (do not post without permission) list then?

While is does give artists control of if there stuff gets uploaded here
the DNP is for if an artist doesn't want there art here at all, that's why its called the
Do Not Post, as in Do Not Post any art of this artist.

But that's dumb. It's too absolutist.

"Hey, I don't want my shameful furry hypno BBW loli art getting out, please don't post it."
OK, you're on the DNP.
"Hey, here's a specific piece that is OK for you all to post."
NOT ALLOWED

There have been cases where artist changed their minds after giving permission only to give it again and then take it back.

After dealing with that we just made the new rule to keep from having to go trough that trouble again

But why giving permission while you don't want your art uploaded here? |=(:s

Some other boorus have a thing like "conditional DNP" as in gifts/commissions of customer X is OK, the rest not OK.

It isn't hard to imagine that such thing increases the burden of the staff team.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't want to take myself off the DNP list, but I wanted Defcon7 to be able to post his gift since it was his birthday and all, so I opted to be taken off with some reluctance.

I guess artists can still ask to have their art taken down if they want, but it was just less of a hassle to have people ask first instead of having to hunt down your post and be like "hey I don't want this here".

Because I didn't want people posting personal artwork of mine here. Commissions/gifts were fine with me.

Thanks for the clarification. I had forgotten about the pay wall rule.

The only artist I know personally does allow commissioned work to be posted is Rosvo.
