A different kind of ad complaint...
I don't think ZKO gave permission to use his art for an ad, did he?

And yet, I just got treated to <<i.postimg.cc/mDCK51yp/offending-advert.png|this>> at the bottom of the posts page. They cropped out the signature, too. Naughty, naughty.

Ads are fine and necessary for the site to run, but it kinda bugs me when advertisements use our own artists' hard work without permission.

Frankly, no. But then again this is the first time I've actually seen one use an artwork that I recognize from here.

That also means it's the first one I think the site admins (or ZKO themselves as the creator of the stolen art) might possibly be able to do something about, since we know who actually created the artwork they stole.

Zko has been informed of that before and didn't really care that much if I am remembering.

Not really much we can do about it

Considering he asked publicly on Twitter what he could do about it, I don't think it's fair to say he didn't care.

I won't be surprised if the advertiser allowed itself by contract, or by Terms of Service, or by whatever else to reuse the content of the site where the advertiser advertises at.

At least, that's what I would do when I would sell ads for a website. At the end people don't come at the website only to click on ads.

Don't believe this is something that can be controlled by the site, given how ads are placed here. I could be wrong, and SlayerDuck can somehow remove that specific ad from displaying. Though even then, it appears on other NSFW sites, so it seems like it's up to ZKO to have to legally sort out, as they're blatantly stealing his art.

Since it's been addressed, gonna lock the thread. Ask staff to unlock if there's something relevant to add publicly.
