How do you think up ideas for hypno-related content?
This is mostly directed towards commissioners and artists, but anyone is invited.

Just curious as to 'how' you guys and gals think up ideas for hypno-related art/media.

For example, I think up a lot of scenarios from music that I listen to, either from the general rhythm or the vibe it provides. A track with, say, a 9/4 time signature brings to mind something involving a swaying motion.

For manipulations, I tend to look for images where the character is doing something strange or out of character, then make the explanation mind control.

When I want to come up with a caption idea, I look at an image/manip and try to imagine what kind of story might lurk within it.

I do a lot of stuff i don't share. But more often than not, my ideas come from stuff i'd like to do with my gf. We use hypnosis to get her in character for RP a lot, but stuff that is physically impossible, i just do a manip or story about it and keep it for when she isn't around.

That sounds really hot, Bullet. You are a very lucky individual.

For me? I just really brainstorm with my partner and see what kinda wacky ideas we can come up with together. And if I decide to go solo? I just mull it over and get whatever I feel like getting...whether it be a pic of Yang and Raven, Tenta or even something like a pic with other OC's (with granted permission, of course). But I mostly made ideas based around what artist I want to try here and there, thus why I'm always finding new artists here and there

I'm not an artist, but I do "write stories" AKA transcribe my masturbation fantasies, and they usually start with a single scene or idea that I haven't seen before, or a twist on something I have, like a texting hypnosis where all the triggers are emoji. Then I decide more specifics around that. It's a woman hypnotizing a man, they're not in a real relationship, but maybe he's stringing her along. She did it without him knowing, and he doesn't know what the emojis do.

Hmmmm...
I browse gelbooru quite a lot, and some pics give me ideas.
Other than that, they kinda come by themselves from time to time I think ?

As someone who commissions, I can confidently say that there's really nothing very original about my 'ideas', since most of it is either redone scenes from films and TV that I wish had been done differently/with different characters (so it could be femsub, but offscreen, or onscreen malesub), or recycled methods applied to characters I like.

Generally speaking, for me, if there's a scene that is on the cusp of turning me on, but has just something that I find lacking, then I'll try paying an artist to redo it.

At least for me, coming up with ideas is easy. Basically I just make a piece and put it aside until I find other pieces that fit until there's enough to assemble something worthwhile. The problem is keeping track of the larger puzzle; who's got which powers, motivations, connections and how they came upon them, what are the themes, flaws and limitations they have to work around (and why they're different from other, similar themes, flaws and motivations I already used elsewhere), what are the ramifications of this thing on the world and how it should realistically affect the socio-econimical-political environment, et cetera et cetera.

...There's a reason I never get anything actually done.
