So I've been trying to join the discord but it asks me for my phone number. Can anyone help me?

Is it the Hypnohub Discord? Cause that's normal. You need to give it your phone number to prove your 18+

Yeah I honestly never understood why you have to give your phone number, a 13 year old can own a phone and have a phone number.

my extended family who has kids who are 6 and younger have there own phones.
Feels like there's something that can be done about it. Other servers don't have it and I think it wasn't always like this.
Wasn't the phone number requirement introduced after people kept harrassing others and rejoining with new accounts if the old ones were banned?

That is exactly why. They had some really nasty users causing issues so the phone number was added as a layer of security.
Pretty sure they can bypass that and let you join without it if they are high enough
I tried to join the discord server a while back but left as soon as I saw it required me to give my number, would rather not do that personally

Yeah its that very reason why I never joined.
I'll 'likely shoot myself in the foot for this question, but does the requirement also apply to already joined users? Because I'm in without giving any phonenumber.

No, Mindwipe was being totally serious. And so am I: it's actually completely unheard of kids using phones (and credit cards to boot). Phones, and mature video games, and age-restricted Youtube videos: kids definitely have no way of accessing those.

MP, that is the problem on the internet: since people are usually just reading a persons message without any indication of the actual tone or intent, it becomes really easy for people to either miss read them or interpret them to suit their own opinion.
I mean, why do you think some people take troll responses seriously?
