I'm not sure if a thread like this exists, so if it does, I somehow missed it or forgot about it...
But let's chat about some "what if" scenarios, preferably related to hypnosis/mind control.
I like to muse with my girlfriend about random stuff sometimes. It's relaxing and silly, usually.

I'll start:
What if every modern phone had a built in function, in which there's a 0.5% chance, when unlocked, it produces a hypnotic spiral and tone that makes the user obedient and dazed for a period of time? (Phone reads movement so knows not to do this while driving, and it doesn't activate if using the emergency call function.)

Anybody else game?

Then the world would be in a far worse state than it is now, given all the government already want back-doors into phones. They would raise those rates to 100% and put themselves into power forever. Not that you can trust that power to corporations either. The world would then become Sydicate/Syndicate Wars.

Stephen King' novel "Cell" comes to mind......

What if we just tore everything down, started over and lived to survive instead of being power hungry backstabbers towards each other and make the world a decent place to live in??

Alternatively, what if I could escape to an alternate universe where everything is ok. Where everyone is ok. The world isn’t going to become inhospitable for us, nobody is kicking anyone else around, and we all live happily ever after. What Fucking If.

That depends on if she's aware of it, and if her personality was affected or not by such knowledge. I can see it being very annoying when you're doing normal stuff. Picture it: she goes shopping and leaves the entire store staring into space.
