Hypnohub Minecraft Server Take 2!

Since people got understandably confused about where to find the IP I'm just gonna go ahead and start a new topic like suggested (Original topic: hypnohub.net/forum/show/17353 ).

I probably don't need to say much more - if you're up for some blocky spirals you're in the right place!

The server itself is based on vanilla - no mods, just a few plugins. Here's a list of non-vanilla features by plugins:
- Smelting any armor, Minecarts, Iron Doors, Iron Trapdoors or tools back into iron, gold or diamond.
- Smelting poisonous potatoes into Charcoal.
- Smelting rotten flesh into Leather.
- A backpack for more inventory space.
- /hdb - a database of more than 20k "heads" for decoration.
- VeinMiner - multiple ores will break at once.
- mcMMO - a skillsystem so you can brag about your high level of digging.
- Some "social" commands: /hug, /slap, /poke, /highfive, /yell, /facepalm, /bite, /lick, /snuggle, /shake, /stab, /kiss, /punch, /murder, /dab, /boi, /cry, /pat, /scorn, /stalk followed by a player name obviously.

Some gamerules:
- Fire doesn't spread.
- You lose your inventory on death BUT your backpack does not lose it's content!

There appears to be a bit of a bug going on with the server, in that no matter where your respawn point is set, you get sent back to the world spawn point on death instead

caused quite an inconvenient hike for me when 5 creepers blew up in my face

Also the mob spawning rate is way higher than I remember it being, is that a server thing or just an overall change in minecraft thing?

The server is running on 1.15.2 you can however join with earlier versions aswell.

I made no modifications to it so I'd assume it's normal Minecraft behaviour.

As for that respawn bug I'll look into that sometime soon!

Well this got shared on the discord so I'd expect a few more people, maybe some even hypnotized while playing depending on how things go.

I'll admit that I too have noticed an awful lot of mobs. Given that the game's set to Hard difficulty, it really makes it a bit tough for the underprepared or laggy.

I see that the server's running Paper (yes, I took the time to check on that), and according to a little research Paper/Spigot both have some default settings that affect mob spawning significantly as a departure from Vanilla Minecraft (or at least had such settings at some point). Might be worthwhile to look through the Paper settings for anything mob-related if you plan on tracking that issue down.

The failing respawns (which don't give the traditional "you died!" respawn screen either, I've noticed, but instead just warp you to spawn) make corpse runs rather painful, especially at night. I dunno what plugin is screwing with the respawns (could be the fast nights plugin because it affects beds, could maybe be the backpacks because they affect your inventory when you respawn), but it's a pain whatever it is. Given how lethal and plentiful the mobs are it's a very irritating combination, especially since the minecart to the main bulk of the town unloads halfway to spawn.

Aight so I tried tweaking some spawn settings, try to see if anythings different with how many mobs are spawning.

Also I'm fairly certain respawning should work correctly now!
