New Animated Jungle Book-style Film by Kaa Fans
A group of Kaa-- let's say "enthusiasts"-- are making a new animated short film featuring the great serpent (looking more like the live action version, sporting a female voice, and sounding much more like the wise book version of the character), and female jungle dweller. Those of you who have been around a while may remember a certain other Kaa fan film that came out a while back that... well, pissed everyone off. Several differences to note here:

-This film is entirely animated (albeit cheaply), no live action elements
-All the people attached to this film are known for making Kaa content
-It is confirmed the film will be free to view on YouTube once released

Well...this is definitely an...interesting concept. I like the Snake’s look way more than what we usually get. And well, the fact that it’s a lady. The effect on her voice is pretty cool too!

Wasn't that other kaa-related "film" a scam? Or at least sort of turned into one after some time? I forgot what happened with that whole shit-show.

Imo, the film looks pretty bad, at least animation-wise. I take no issue with people who have an interest and appreciation for the project, though I'd still recommend against anyone throwing money at it. Especially with the goal being $700. That to me seems kinda sketchy.

I recall that one, it was that live action cg thing that was super delayed, had a ton of controversy, then when it came out it was total trash that almost no one was happy with

What happened was, some nobody YouTuber approached members of the Kaa fetish community to make a film of her with a snake. She led the people she worked with to believe that the film would be affordable for everyone, and most of them agreed to work on it for free. Then when she released the film, she charged $30 to RENT IT on YouTube. Everyone was pissed, especially the people she worked with, who felt that they were conned. Then she went on multiple twitter rants, calling everyone cheapskates and whatnot.

Don't go in expecting this to be Hazbin Hotel. This is a fetish film being released completely for free. The GoFundMe is just for donations. And $700 for a fully-voiced animation of any length is ridiculously cheap. There are 3 artists and 5 voice actors listed on the poster, and then there's also the writer, director, and person who made the poster. And I'm sure after the fiasco of last time, no one is keen on working for free.

this. look at the rates of any independent voice actor nowadays. they would’ve had to streeetch that budget to get the critical stuff done. and they probably couldn’t afford to hire/didn’t have contact with anyone who really could have made the visuals truly epic.

we can judge it as we would anything else, but the context of the short’s creation is definitely worth noting, as well as the fact that you’re not going to be charged money to see it.

Of course not. The fact that it's so ridiculously cheap is why I find it to be a bit sketchy, as the thought of mismanaging funds comes to mind. Though like I said, I won't knock anyone that supports this project. My initial thoughts are merely that of skepticism.

Even for people who are credited under forum handles alone?

Why DO people give a shit about Kaa? Is just that they weren't exposed to any other form of hypno content when they were young?

You know, when I posted this, I didn't expect people to be such downers about it.

I wouldn’t say everyone’s down on it—there’s some skepticism because of what happened last time, but that’s understandable. And my personal opinion matters very little in the broad scheme of things, I think the general population will be excited about this thing happening.

^Pretty much this. If it does well and a satisfactory project is put out, then I'm glad to hear for those who wanted it. It's not like I want it to fail, I just think people should be cautious is all.
