Hi, this is kind of an obnoxious issue. I dislike having to get porn ads in the corner of my vision, especially when I'm browsing my hypno-fetish, where I don't particularly enjoy getting pics of naked old ladies on the side ; it honestly makes the whole experience way more unpleasant and awkward than it should be.

So I installed UBlock Origins, which has a better reputation than Adblock, and it works for most of the stuff on the sides, however there are three ads in the bottom that pop up even when it's turned on. I assume they're coded to be treated as a part of the site's images or something, which is kind of a dick move.

Look, I understand having to put ads on your website, but is it really too much to ask to have them be slightly less in-your-face? The things take up so much space, and it becomes difficult to actually browse when UBlock isn't turned on. Honestly, I wouldn't mind turning off my adblocker if they were more discreet. I mean, ffs, look at <<ibb.co/Bw8r2rx|this shit when adblocker's off.>> These reallly aren't good browsing conditions, it feels like I'm on some direputable, virus-infested spam site.

Sorry for venting, but I really hope these can be tuned down somewhat. I wish I could better support the site, but I don't feel like these "fling shit at your face" ad tactics are a good way of encouraging people to do so.

If you donate to the sites Patreon you can have ads turned off for you.

Edit: Okay, so in the stickied Patreon link thread it says you can link your Patreon email to your account. I just became a supporter on Patreon, what do I do now? Entering the email address I use on Patreon here doesn't work, is this not what's meant by "Patreon address"?

On your hub account Settings page there should be an option to add your Patreon email so it can shut off ads for you. It's the last option, at the bottom. Then save your settings and it should be enabled after that.

It works, I think it just takes a bit of time for the server to sync with Patreon.

Yeah, I saw that, but when I added the email address I used on Patreon, it didn't do anything, that's why I was puzzled as to what was meant by "Patreon address" - I'm going to follow Thf's advice and wait a bit longer this time, though.

Always amuses me how this community gets on its high horse about "art theft" then turns a blind eye to art being taken without permission and used for commercial purposes in ads.

That certainly came well out of left field. So far out of left field, in fact, that it originates in an entirely different zip code from the rest of the field. Yes, ads sometimes steal art. But that is not the topic here even remotely. Nor was anyone defending stolen art in any way shape or form. You're just barging in here and yelling about something only vaguely related to the topic at hand. Take a chill pill dude.

Not to mention that people here have certainly not turned a blind eye and there was actual concern over some ads stealing art (<<hypnohub.net/forum/show/82303|for example>>)

How can you have been on this site for 5 years and completely missed the several times people brought up and discussed art theft both in and out of ads?

And the response was that they can't do anything about it (supposedly) so I would call that turning a blind eye.

You read that thread and know that we can't file a DMCA complaint on behalf of the artist as we aren't his legal agents/representative?
Trust me, I tried and got told the legal rights owner is the only one they're even going to talk to.
