I made a possibly compleetly useless tool? (Definetly click bait)
Heyo people,
As the title of the topic says this might be a totally useless invention with no one other than me interested in using it but I figured since I'd already made it, why not just throw up a link to it here on the forum.
It is a tool that allows you to very quickly add chapter markers to a video file, which allows you in most modern video players to skip to those moments with either a button or a shortcut key. The use case I have for it is say I have a full episode from an anime but the hypno content happens somewhere in the middle of the video and I want quick access too it. With this tool I just add a chapter marker and when I open the file again I can instantly be where I want to be in the video.

This is currently a windows only tool. I have a separate tool for linux if people are interested, as for mac users, sorry.

Install and usage instructions are in the zip file. It requires alittle setup by installing ffmpeg since this is the main tool that does the work, my program is more just adding a user interface making it simpler and faster too use.

Also, WARNING! The UI looks like absolute shit, I know, I haven't put any work into it. If enough people on here show an interest/complain about the UI maybe I'll update it, but for now, it is as spartan as spartan can be.

Pretty neat. I use gom player which if i'm understanding what you have made has that built in.
what i want though is a feature where you can add your own subtitles to the video file.
If you can make something that does that i'd be grateful.

Huh, never heard of gom player before. Are the chapter markers permanent or just as long as you don't close down the player? VLC has that feature where you can add chapter markers, but if you close the VLC window, they go away.

As for the subtitle thing, yeah, totally possible to do with ffmpeg. Maybe one day I will make a similar app for that too xD
