Anyone use TVTropes?

It is a great wiki for information about tropes, recurring themes/situations/characters/structures of a story.

I especially like their Mind Manipulation Index that is basically an A-Z of mind control. Each article has loads of examples from every form of media possible. You can learn a lot from reading this wiki when it comes to storytelling, character creation and anything fiction related.

EMCSA is a great library of stories. Why would Google give a flying fuck about it, if it is their first search result.

Just the usual progression, really.

They started by purging the loli-related tropes and tags, and then the “hypnosis is rape” gang showed up at the door, and the banned-tropes-and-works list got a little broader.

That said, the usual progression typically ends with a new uncensored site cropping up, as in this case. That’s actually how hypnohub was born, as well!

I thought Hypnohub was created from Hypnobooru due to some technical issues with the original site. I lurked on Hypnobooru up until the end of the site and only created an account (now defunct) on the Hub back in 2016. So what is the real story of Hypnobooru?

Also I hate the hypnosis is rape gang. It is dub-con at worst. That is the reason why I can't sell my novellas on Amazon, because they remove hypnosis novels at random. They have favored authors, whose works they don't remove but get rid of anyone else. That is why I have to use Smashwords and their alternate network of affiliates.

As it happens, I’m the person who first came up with the name “hypnohub”. =)

I also used to be one of the mods on HypnoChan, which was the community ‘hub’ back in the day (almost a decade ago now).

I would say the above isn’t entirely accurate, in that hypnochan didn’t follow the progression above ... what killed the original site was more or less the fact that a lot of bad-apples flouted the rules against illegal file-sharing, by posting paid hypnofetish content for free, and thus angering the content creators who support our community.

However, the fact that they were open to loli content *was* part of what helped hypnohub take over and become the new central hypnofetish image-board hub. This site was geared toward content creators, and some of the biggest names in the community at the time (e.g. Sleepymaid) also happened to make some really nice loli pics, and not appreciate being censored.

Eh, I sortof get their PoV. Like... if it’s ok to censor stuff just because it makes some folks uncomfortable, then why shouldn’t they get to censor stuff that reminds them of rape?

That’s why I don’t approve of censorship generally.

Speaking of ‘the usual progression’... it seems that since I last looked, TVTropes has widened their purge to cover *all* pornographic works and tropes.

Now, the Hub is going to do its own purge of Loli pics. I remember HypnoChan as well, it was where I first got into the community as a lurker. I found Jimryu's comics on there. Do you think there will be a new site formed just for those kind of purged pics?

I dunno. Unless the community as a whole moved on like they did last time, I probably wouldn’t start posting any of my stuff anywhere else.
