Hey all! I have someone who has been working on a Samus animation for a while now and I wanted some of your opinions on the voice actresses who did the lines. I went with the more matire sounding voice, and it's not really possible to change voices at this point, but I just wanted your opinions.

What about the voice acting? Need more context. What's your ultimate, overarching goal?

Oh, sorry for not clarrifying. I just wanted some thoughts on which voice suits Samus Aran better. Originally, the person I commissioned had gotten the younger voice, and since I haven't actually played any Metroid games I didn't really think about it much since the lines sounded good. But later on, I had sime second thoughts about the orginal voice acting, since I figured Samus probably sounded more mature. So I looked into Samus voice actresses and decided to request someone who sounded similar to Jessica Hale (Metroid Prime series) or Alesia Glidewell (Smash Brawl).

If you're not satisfied with it, then that should answer your question. For me, I think the VA did a fine job, and it works for what it is. I don't really see a reason to replace it, though if you have the extra money and energy to do so, that's your call.

I didn't mean to imply that I was unsatisfied, I actually love the more mature sounding voice. I just wanted to know if the voice was sutiable for Samus since I'm not really a Metroid fan lol.

It sounds fine, I guess. While I've played one Metroid game, it's not like I'm super big fan either, so I don't have any strong feelings about the "maturity" of her voice, one way or another.

To be honest, my only real gripe is that it sounds a little too frantic for someone falling under some MC.

Cool. I hope when that part of the animation is finished, the voice lines translate better than they do on their own.
