From the video game series Splatoon. An umbrella term for the whole octarian army.
However, Octarian is also used as a name for the species of Octarian that are basically living tentacles.
You can call an octoling an octarian as they fall under this umbrella term. However, octolings are different to octarians as octolings have a humanoid form. There for, while all octolings can be called an octarian, not all octarians can be called an octoling.
