Was it already broken on old hub? for loss of functions please read my post here hypnohub.net/index.php?page=forum&s=view&id=105951 and migrate them manually.

No. I did just leave myself logged in perpetually, but it did save my info to the browser. Using that saved info won't validate my login now. Admittedly that's not a huge loss since I used bookmarks to keep track of artists and tags I liked, and those are all dead now, so I have to set them up again.

It's whatever. It sucks, but I get why it had to be done. I'm not mad, just sorta bummed that I lost that stuff, but it can't be helped.

Mods need to see IP addresses to do things like permaban users, so... yeah, if you're hiding your IP address, it would be really easy to circumvent bans and hinder the moderation team. Makes sense that this wouldn't be allowed.

Well I really don't like exposing my IP address so unless there's a way to whitelist/verify users so they can still post while using VPNs, that's me finished on here because I've essentially been banned, it's a compromise I am not willing to make any more than I have done in the past couple of days.

Is there any way to search comments on the new site?

No, currently there is no way to search comments.

I answered this on the previous page. No, not at this time.

Edit: I'm too slow

since no one replied, i'll ask for the third time: how does the new comment section works? can i see my own comments? can i search comments?

It just works. :todd: If by "see [your] own comments" you mean being able to pull up a list of all your comments, then no, not on the current site. I also don't believe there's currently any way to search comments.

so no more conversations in the comments?

Nothing's stopping you, that I'm aware of? You just have to look for comments to reply to the old-fashioned way. That said, if you're looking for conversations, DMs are generally better than starting a comment chain.

TOR

Posting through Tor doesn't work either so I have essentially been banned from the Hub for no reason other than for wanting to not expose my IP address.

I'm currently using TOR just fine and even uploaded some videos so maybe it's just the node you're connected to? I did have a little Cloudflare page when first connecting but it didn't ask for a captcha.

Putting aside the fact that people like to call any reason for deletion bullshit, including things that are actually illegal in the site's host country like explicit loli, all deleted posts are now actually deleted. Being able to look at deleted posts was not an intended feature of the old site. It was an oversight by the mod team in combination with shitty coding.

I am not talking about loli. And regardless of whether or not it was intended, it was absolutely a feature. Bear in mind that deleting posts does not just delete the image - it also deletes the tags, comments, and source.

Unless I'm missing something, is there any way to jump to the newest forum post? It's not a BIG deal, but it's just an extra step to have to go to the original forum post, then scrollllll the way down, then jump to the newest page.

.

Somebody was kind enough to make a script to do just that as well as fix a time issued i mentioned earlier in this thread

To be fair, I don't think most end-users are really concerned with data loss as much as you appear to be

Oh, believe me, even if people aren't concerned with it right now, they sure would be if, for example, we added wiki functionality, but all our past wiki entries were gone and had to be re-added from scratch. No data loss means everything is still stored somewhere, even if we can't currently use it, but it can all be added back should we regain those functionalities in the future.

As should have been clear from the rest of my comment, I absolutely agree. But slayer seemed to be focusing more on the data in that instance than addressing people's questions and concerns. Don't get me wrong, I understand that it's objectively a good thing, and it definitely would have been WAY worse if data was lost. However, most average users just want confirmation that things are, at the very least, going to improve from this point, rather than stagnate now that the site is migrated, and slayer has only really given binary answers to what the site currently supports without addressing the concerns about the site's future. But you have, and I genuinely appreciate the communication you've been providing here recently. It's giving some assurance that work is going to continue being done, with people looking into what can be improved and re-implemented, which is what a lot of people are coming here for.

I hate to be that guy, but uh... So what? If an image was posted here against the community rules & guidelines, what does it matter if everything else is deleted along with the post?

Whoa, did the notes get fixed or is somebody being awesome and manually re-adding them? Either way, nice.

On another note(heh) people should just relax, make do with what we've got for now and be patient. I believe it's only a matter of time before things get improved, these things just take time.

Yeah i hear that. if tags for deleted posts don't go away with the image then the numbers for tags gets messed up which was a problem on the old hub.
