As far as I can tell we're still on the "tag what you see" policy, which means the picture I assume you're talking about you're in the wrong and it should be tagged as futanari, not female.
and on that picture the tag "transgender" refers to transgender transformation. Not transgender as an identity.

in order to avoid confusions. Male, female and futanari tags are BODY related tags here. So, if you see a completely female body with a dick, then you tag futanari, a male body, then you tag male, a female body, then you tag female.
You can also add the "transgender" tag if the character is transgender.

Did they ever come up with a replacement then? I thought "sex change was gonna be used instead of transgender or transgender_identity.
Because just using transgender for transgender identifying people and magical sex changes seems confusing.
I don't know honestly, I though sex change was already available, but I see I was wrong. We really need a tag for sex changes now.

As a trans woman I find it quite uncomfortable using malesub on a transgirl even if it's related to their body, so why can't we just have a unique tag for transgender characters?

That's fairly sensible. Although I hate tag bloat, if this would make both parties happy, I'd be absolutely fine with it.

You instead go against there wishes and misstag anyway.
