In Itou Junji: maniac (2023). A serie of individual half episodes (each half talks about something else) and none of the story is linked to another one based on horror manga chapters Junji Itto worked on (there is another similar anime in 2018). Too lazy to check if other stories have mind manipulaiton but anyway here's the story of episode 2b (starts at 15 min 00)

a father recently moved in a new town (japan) with his kid son (he has the guard). All of a sudden an "ice cream bus" arrives for kids to buy ice cream. The ice cream merchant is very handsome and good looking (in fact local moms have a crush on him). Kids can't wait for the ice cream bus and they love when it comes. The ice cream bus also provides a free service: the merchant drives the bus and shows the town to kids while they eat ice cream in the back of the truck. Apparently he did that since one month (and once per week each saturday) and kids all seem very happy, the father arrived barely 2 days ago and does not buy an ice cream to the boy because they're currently in winter. the kid is then acting like a brat saying he doesn't like his father's dishes and that he wants to be at "mommy's house". The next week, the father buys an ice cream to his son and allows him to do the free bus tour service. Once the kid is back, he says he is so happy, that it was great and all and that he can't wait to do it. The father asks him if he wants to return to the mom's house but he says "no way, the ice cream bus does not go there so I'll stay here".He seems to have a weird obsession for the ice cream bus and same goes for other kids (who he befriended easily), the kid explains one of the activity they had was licking a mountain of ice cream and they had a contest about who could lick the most of it. He also says he only wants to eat the ice cream from the merchant despite being in winter.
The next week the father asks if he can come along because he is really curious about what they do (he probably had doubts about why kids are so happy). but the merchant tells him it's impossible since adults aren't allowed in the ice cream bus. The father sill has a quick glance and indeed notices kids are at the back of the bus licking mountains of ice cream (they seem obsessed as if the ice contained drug). next scenes, we notice tons of ice everywhere on the floor and all. The father notices tons of shoes in the house and asks his son if his friends came because he is surprised they're all so quiet. He notices in horror his son licking mountains of ice cream of all flavors with human clothes, the son explains all his friends melted but he explains they taste so good and that he loves to lick them and he is super addicted, the son is starting to melt himself but he doesn't care: he just wants to lick his friends who turned to ice cream. It turns out the ice cream bus is in fact a malevolent entity that generates an illusion of the merchant who never existed: the bus is fully autonomous and is a conscious entity who wants to afflict more kids with his curse.

I'm glad you like it! Don't hesitate to share your discoveries! Here's one scene youtu.be/Z6GBsHDnqjE?list...kaId1neGIy_6bNq&t=514
It's from "martin mystery" and the MC and all other guys in the sector are brought in this bar by the female singer (a mermaid). She uses her voice to destroy the building and make it crumble on everyone but nobody moves because they're hypnotized.

Also later (14 min 25) youtu.be/Z6GBsHDnqjE?list...kaId1neGIy_6bNq&t=865 this happens again: she sings and makes the MC want to follow her voice even if it may make him fall from a cliff!

Wow! Not Just Me!!
So glad I found this thread. I always wondered if anyone else shared this fantasy.

Of course, being a total sub, I want it to happen to me. I would love to be hypnotized into causing or allowing harm, even fatal harm, to myself for my Mistress' pleasure or gain.

My Mistress said it is a hot fantasy, but She loves me too much to do it. Still, the thought seriously turns me on.

EDIT: There's also the animated movie Anastasia, where Anastasia is trapped in a hypnotic dream to throw herself off a boat during a storm.

I've now cleaned up that scene (removing the parts with the dog and most of Dimitri) and just posted it as post #208666.

Original Jurassic Park Novel
In the original Jurassic Park novel, there is a scene that is not in the movie. The IT guy gets bitten by one of the smaller pack-predator dinos.

But this species has a venom that induces a state of false well-being, making you think everything is fine and you can just relax while the predators close in.

Crichton does a good job of describing his thoughts as the venom makes him "realize" that everything is going to be fine, there's no need to be scared, and that it is okay to take a rest for a while.

This is so sexy. I know an episode with an enemy like that in rwby. The grimm (monster) named "apathy" makes people act you like that meme with the dog who's in a burning house who's like "this is fine", like no matter how dangerous the situation is, nobody cares about anything.

There is also episode 13 of "betterman". In this japanese anime a group goes in a places with flowers that release pheromone that force the brain to produce dopamine. It makes the whole group laugh and fool around and even as they know they will die they can't help but laugh and fool around even more! they have a support team that communicates with radio and even though they're far even the support team is affected and laughs/folls around and they even suggest them to take deep breaths of the flowers pheromones.

In the book "Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods?" The MC and his group must cross a place with flowers that emit stuff in the air that makes people laugh and think everything is funny even if the flowers captured people and put them in a potentially lethal situations. At one point the MC is really affected and caught by plants and thought it was the nicest and funniest thing ever (however he was rescued a few minutes later but before he was saved, we knew what he was thinking before he was saved and we were "in his head"). It's in chapter 22 (allnovel.net/gregor-and-t...chronicles-3/page-22.html)
