Is the "smoke"/gleam in the eyes intentional, or a leftover of the emptying? Just curious.

Dialogue like that nearly always adds value and it certainly does here. You nailed the empty eyes and the dialogue well and the result is another hot pic. Well done:)

I like it. Very well done. I love back and forth dialogue sections like this and as always, this girl is a sucker for nice anime pictures.
