This might be a seriously backhanded compliment on my part, but probably my biggest problem with 3D renders is the "uncanny valley" effect that I get off of the faces. There's some nice usage of lighting and shadow here, and among other things they hide that issue.
ARGH YES
There are so many things that can go wrong with making 3D images, but the best part is seeing when you don't fuck it up horribly.
