Anyone wonder about gem development? Like, if I was designing a gem, I would want it’s placement centralized. So I’m wondering what’s the “in universe” explanation for Saphire’s gem placement, heck the same question for all of the Rubies as well
There's been a theory for a while called "The Gem Placement Theory" which kinda gives a explanation/symbolic meaning to where each gem is placed. The three most accepted are Forehead=Knowledge, Chest=Emothion, Stomach=Gut Instinct. The rest are still being debated on.
Fun Fact (Theory?): People speculate that Aquamarine's teardrop gem placement is based on the Teardrop Tattoo in West U.S. gang culture, where someone in prison is given a teardrop tattoo, meaning they had murdered someone. Given Aquamarine's nature and attitude, it wouldn't surprise a lot of folks if she had shattered a gem at one point.
