Bonded to the young heroine from her corruption as a Black Lantern during the Blackest Night, an unseen entity calls out across the mortal divide to sooth the nightmares plaguing Donna's mind. It calls her from her bed on Themyschira to the gates of Tartarus.
She walks with her eyes vapid and her mind docile. Donna's body is slick with sweat from her nightmares, but now her fear is gone. Her nipples stiffen under her negligee in the cool night air and warmth builds in her heart as the voice soothes her troubled soul. The guards lay unconscious, but she pays them no mind as she passes them. Her barefoot steps echo in the otherwise silent chambers. The voice... Her Mistress and goddess calling the former Wonder Girl to a duty only she can fulfill. Donna opens the gates that her sisters have guarded for millennia without hesitation.
On the other side, there is no army of Hades or monstrosities of evil, only Death herself awaits. Stepping into the world of the living, the goddess praises her slave and plants a gentle kiss on Donna's lips. Power, love and pleasure fill Donna's soul, washing away her worries and fears as a new yet familiar ring forms on her finger...
The Rise of Lady Death's Black Lantern Corps has begun.

Part 1 of 2 for a new set concept that I've developed with Pol over the past year, and all inspired on a pic of Blk Lantern WW marching a captured Raven through streets. Part 2 will be uploaded tomorrow for the Day of the Dead... seemed appropriate ^^'.
My thanks to Pol for putting up with my endless brainstorming.

Umm is there a black lantern tag?
Depends if you really count this as proper Blank Lanterns... spoilers: There will be no Zombification here.

If you’re gonna pick an Endless to be a mind-controlling villain, Desire is a better choice.

this is a really cool concept! more Death is always a plus, looking foward to part 2!
Thanks, it took a little while to realise it, but should be plenty of fun ahead.

We aim to please. Your Master and I have plenty more planned.
When was death in Blackest Knight? Or does Nekron count as the reaper in DC?
Death from the Sandman series was not present for Blackest Night. The logic is that Black Lanterns wielded the force of death as a weapon, and that she is the manifestation of Death. She considers the Black Lantern power to be rightfully hers, and to say she is displeased by what Nekron did and tried to do would be an understatement.
This is the wrong Death though, that’s Death of the Endless from Sandman. Somehow that kills this for me as she’s not even close to a bad guy and wouldn’t use a black lantern ring or any kind of coercion (she doesn’t have to).
If you’re gonna pick an Endless to be a mind-controlling villain, Desire is a better choice.
I understand and I freely admit that she will be OOC here. A number of factors led me to choose her, but it wasn’t a goal to use an Endless character. Also, to be fair, she’s not the bad guy in this context. Her motivation is stop humanity and other life destroying itself. She believes life is beautiful and she as the manifestation of Death, the end of life, cannot exist without life. So, she is going to take steps to preserve it.
