Oh hey the Law of Ueki, I used to love this anime growing up. Glad to see someone still remembers it. I remember the girl on the right being my first waifu

As for context, it's an anime where people are given powers with the theme of turning X into Y. (Eg the main character Ueki can turn trash into trees.) So the girl on the left was entered into the tournament very late, and no one actually knew what her power was.

By complete accident, they found out her power was to turn people into obsessed glasses lovers, which came in handy as a distraction tool.
