Tag type: General

Any hairstyle where hair is arranged so that hair that would otherwise fall from gravity is pointing up. Does not include afros but rather the hairstyles usually kept in place with hair_clips, hairbands, and/or braids.

While ponytails can technically be considered "updos", the term is most applicable to more elaborate styles, and are most commonly seen on special occasions like weddings.
