A type of underwear typically worn while doing exercise or other athletic activities. Their purpose is to cover the panty and crotch area while leaving maximum maneuvering room.
In Japan, these are called "buruma" and are typically worn as part of a gym_uniform for students, though they're considered old-fashioned these days.
