The idea was that they had *some* sort of arrangement "off-screen".
That or the therapist is also evil and does that for fun.

Also, wanted to note, I did consider putting in a line about paying back the burrowed money, but ended up deciding otherwise.
So, yeah, the partner here is an impulsive spending ass, but they're not gonna bankrupt the two of them.
As for them being an asshole, yeah, but so are most dom characters, they gotta be someone's type of imagined partner or self-insert.
I could've written the therapist to sound more evil, but I guess this *veiled* pseudo-positive evil has its appeal.
(I had to correct myself multiple times on the damn pronouns)
