In the original Digimon Adventure (not the 2020 reboot) there was an early episode that followed the pattern it had at the time.

Digidestined wandering around when they come across Toy Town, which is run by Monzaemon. Unfortunately, Monzaemon had been infected with a Black Gear, making him evil. Now he captures children with his Hearts Attack so the toys can play with them
