Story at source link by Draconicon:
aron groaned softly as he wiped some sweat off of his forehead, his fingers sliding along his slick scales easily. He groaned under his breath, shaking his head as he walked down the dirt path. “Plenty of shade…” the lizard muttered. “Yeah, plenty of shade, and doesn’t do a bit of good for me.”

The jungle around him would have sizzled with the summer heat were it not for the way that the air was drenched, soaked with the humidity of the wet months of the year. He was covered with an even amount of sweat and humidity, his shorts soaked and clinging to his scales, his shirt tied around his waist so that he could get a little ventilation. The shade from the trees above did little to cut the heat, mostly just giving him a way to stay out of the fading sunlight.

Despite the moisture in the air, his steps still kicked up clouds of dust as he walked, coating the wet scales on his legs with it and turning it into mud. Most of it started running back off of his legs as he continued to sweat, rolling it over his boots and coating them with the slick brown instead, but some of it remained, sticking to his green scales stubbornly.

Pausing at a tree, Aaron reached down to his waist, picking one of the water bottles from it and taking a few drinks. The water wasn’t cold anymore, but even the slightest difference in temperature was appreciated. Tepid water felt like ice, and he groaned as he swallowed it down like it was the elixir of life, gulping it for a few seconds before he forced himself to stop, capping it again and putting it back in his pack. There was still another few miles of paths, and he didn’t want to run out before he hit the end.

He took a moment to look down the way he’d come, towards the way station that marked the start of the path. The rangers there had mentioned that this was one of the easier paths to walk, but they’d made him sign a waiver before setting out. Nothing dangerous about the path, they insisted, just something that put all responsibility for what happened in his hands rather than theirs. He hadn’t looked at the entire document then, but he had the feeling now that it might have been a better idea to get a better look at the darn thing.

Well, it was too late for that now. Aaron sighed softly to himself, shaking his head as he turned towards the rest of the path. It turned off into the trees not more than fifty feet away, and there could be anything down there. Oh, the rangers said that they kept the path and the area around it clear, but in a place like this, where the trees threw so many shadows around, he wondered if that was possible. There were so many different hiding places, so many different hidden spots that animals could hide in.

A little nervousness crept over him, but he pulled himself away from his tree again, setting his feet back on the path. “Better get moving,” Aaron muttered to himself, and started walking again.

It was more like swimming as he walked along, and the air pressed in on him from all sides. His scales felt like they were getting a bath, both from sweating and from the water pressure of the hot air around him. Hand brushed against forehead several times a minute, he swore, and he couldn’t stop small grumbles from slipping past his lips, muttered complaints against the trail, the weather, and anything else he could think of.

Rounding the bend, he saw the path continue weaving back and forth, constantly cutting itself out of sight, and just visible on the other side through the trees. Whoever had cut this path before must have been obsessed with zig-zags, he thought to himself. No wonder the second half of the trail was supposed to take longer; it didn’t let anyone walk in a straight line.

Shaking his head, he walked straight towards the trees. He was tired, and wanted to get back to the station. The bends seemed absolutely pointless; it was only a couple dozen feet from one part of the path to the other, and he wasn’t going to walk two hundred feet when he could just walk a few dozen instead.

He stepped under the shadow of the trees again, and almost immediately fell on his face as he left the path. The ground was far more uneven, and there were roots and vines everywhere underfoot. His boot slid along one root, the surface so slick that he almost went head over heels before he caught his balance again. Arms wobbled and rotated several times as he fought to stay on his feet, and even when he stopped he still kept his arms straight out. “Okay…maybe the path wouldn’t be such a bad idea after all,” Aaron said.

Before he could turn around, he heard something. A soft rustling sound, of leaves being pushed out of the way. His head whipped around, side to side; there was nobody. He looked up; there was nobody.

He looked down; there was most definitely somebody.

A great blue-gray face rose from the ground, supported by a long, cylindrical sort of body. The face was that of a snake, with a snout pointing out and ending in a blunt, flat tip, a forked tongue slipping out past the lips, flicking at the air. A great hood surrounded the snake’s head, flaring out like a cobra’s, and throwing him further into the shade as the great creature lifted up above him, looming over him. Two great arms, muscled and strong, reached down for him, and Aaron was helpless to resist as they grabbed him by the arms, holding him still.

The creature’s eyes met his, and they shone with a bright light, orange like the setting sun, a lazy, deep light that nevertheless spoke of ancient times and great power. Aaron stared into those eyes, fascinated by them and the way they seemed to flare and shine without any source of light reflecting off of them.

A smile crossed the snake-man’s face, revealing pointed fangs. “Ssssso, another Walker off the passssssss,” it hissed at him.

Aaron could do little more than nod. The eyes…the eyes, they were so fascinating…so beautiful…

"Already ssssstaring…Already ssssso losssst in my eyesssss," it said, smiling softly at him. He returned the smile with a little nod of his head. "Ssssuch a ssssstrange Walker…sssstaring into my eyessss…"

What was so strange about it, Aaron wondered. The eyes of the snake were so powerful, so very different. They were like a treasure, a forgotten one, and he felt like something wonderful could be discovered if he just looked at them hard enough. There was something about them…something that he felt that he should know…but he couldn’t bring it to mind. Maybe if he kept looking…maybe if he kept staring…

"Sssssuch a lossst little Walker…You’ve lossst your way, haven’t you?" it asked, and he nodded. "I can help you, little Walker…but you have to trusssst me to do what’sss besssst, to get you home."

The waiver…was this was the waiver was about? That there were creatures like this in the jungle off the beaten path? Why would they warn against something like this, he wondered. This one seemed so helpful, so very nice. He nodded dumbly, his eyes slowly closing as he continued to stare at the burning orange light in the cobra’s eyes.

"Yesss…a trusssting Walker…you can trussst me to guide you…you can trussst me to take you home…" it whispered to him. It leaned in closer, its snout pressed against his as it whispered. The forked tips of its tongue pressed against his lips, almost tickling him as it hissed. "Jusssst trussst me…trussst me to take you home…trussst me to keep you ssssafe…"

With each word, it felt as though the eyes were getting stronger, brighter. The orange fire deep within was flaring up, almost dancing for him, like a campfire in the way that it shifted and swayed in the snake’s eyes. It was something he couldn’t ignore, couldn’t look away from. So very beautiful; something so beautiful could only be good, could be trusted implicitly, he thought to himself as he nodded again.

"Ssss ssss ssss," it hissed at him, almost sounding like laughter. "Ssssso lossst in my eyessss…ssssso losssst in the jungle…But trusssst in me…and you will get home ssssafe."

Aaron could trust the snake. He would trust the snake. He nodded again, even as he felt the heat around his legs starting to grow. The smooth feeling of another’s scales against his made him smile as he felt the snake coiling around him, wrapping him from feet to waist. It continued to smile down at him, even as he was wrapped up in the great snake-man’s coils.

It disappeared, the face going up into the trees, and he felt himself being lifted up, carried into the branches with his guide. He shivered a little bit at the strange but pleasant feeling of the coils tightening around his legs as he was pulled off of the ground, but didn’t move; he trusted his guide.

He was placed on a branch, and the face returned, the eyes looking into his once more. He watched the burning lights in those eyes as he felt the coils unwind, leaving him in his shorts on top of the branch. The tip of the snake’s tail flicked at his boots, and he felt them slide off, falling to the ground below. His socks followed after, landing out of sight, out of mind, as he ceased caring about them the minute he felt them leave. A slight giggle slipped from his lips as the snake’s tail dragged across the bottoms of his feet, but faded as soon as the touch did.

His guide leaned him back, pulling his tied up shirt off of his waist and letting it fall to the ground as well. A part of him was aware that he only had his shorts on now, but he didn’t care. Those strong arms lifted him off of the branch for a second before setting him down again, this time on top of the snake-man’s body, having him straddle a part of the snake’s massive body. The scaly surface was smooth, slightly hard from all the muscles but still soft enough to be more comfortable than the branch.

The eyes were so close to his, and he felt so very happy, so very relaxed looking into them. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he leaned back against his guide’s coils, feeling his fellow reptile wrap around him a little bit, those big, strong arms wrapped around him from behind somehow, as the guide looked down at him, keeping their eyes locked.

Aaron felt the smooth fingers running down his chest and over his stomach, feeling frictionless as they glided over his soaked scales. They drifted over his belly button, and paused at the waistband of his pants. Some soft, meaningless words hissed in his ears, words he couldn’t make out, but nodded to anyway. His guide wouldn’t do anything that would hurt him…wouldn’t do anything that would make him feel bad…

It pulled at his waistband, and as his shorts were pulled down, Aaron felt a tension ease that he hadn’t known he’d had. His shaft flopped out of his pants, hard and throbbing, and those strong fingers wrapped around it, moving slowly, as though they were moving through molasses. Aaron moaned softly as he felt them surround his cock, slowly starting to stroke him, slowly starting to tease him as they moved up and down, up and down, the fingers squeezing tightly at the end of each stroke, making a fist around his shaft.

And all the while, he stared into the eyes of his guide, grinning slightly, his mouth agape and his eyes half open, trusting him.

Several rangers sighed softly as they put down their binoculars. “He just had to go off the path,” one of them muttered.

"They always do. They can’t just walk a little out of their way," the other responded. "So, do we get him now?"

"Nah, let the snake have a little fun." The first ranger shook his head. "They always bring them back anyway, and he did sign the waiver. He’ll learn his lesson."

The second one nodded, and they turned back down the path. They were not bothered by any of the animals watching from the shadows as they made their way back to their post; the slight orange in their eyes was warning enough that they belonged to someone much more important than the predators of the jungle.
