When did we get an animal_transformation tag, and why does its usage not really make sense?
hmmm, it might be dual purpose: both for those made to think they are animals, which seems like a thing that should have a tag, and/or non directly mind control related to the physical transformation into an animal or furry, which of course may or may not also include mind control, but might be something people may want to find or avoid regardless

The first thing has a tag: human_pet. I've largely been up on new tags getting approved for use, but I don't remember ever seeing a discussion on "animal_transformation", and the fact that most of the pics with it don't seem to show people actually becoming animals makes me wonder if it was ever approved.

It wasn't.
Or, if it was, I have absolutely zero recollection as to why. o.O
I don't even see any rhyme or reason to its usage.

* What phantomreader42 said
* Also humans/kemonomimi acting like non-pet animals
* Also furries acting like non-furry animals, usually by wearing collars and getting on all fours
Basically it's any humanoid that's very clearly acting like an animal. "Very clearly" usually means that they're costumed and/or behaving like something humans have domesticated - also most petplay and furries are domesticated things or their close relatives anyway. No one's ever seriously tried to split the tag up because it can be so ambiguous. ("Yeah she's on all fours and growling but she thinks she's a wolf...")

hmm, glancing at the pics with the tag, they sure seem to be gaining physical animal attributes, such as a minimum of ears, tails, or horns, if not say, a furry transforming into a completely different type of furry
.... of course, by the same token, tail, horns, and animal_ears are all tags, but they seem to indicate the presence of them, not their generation.... I'm not sure if that's something we care about or not
