Discussion: Drawn Images/Manips vs Picture Sets/Mangas on Hypnohub
Hello everyone.
I have a little bit of a grudge against mass posting on the hub and just wanted to know what the rest of the community thinks about it.
So the basic premise is we have artists that draw or manip pictures and spend many hours on them vs. flooding the hub with a whole Manga or picture sets (in 30 unique variations!) that can either be seen on exhentai and to a lesser degree on pixiv or deviantart.
There are 2 concerns I have with the current way things are running.
1. Flooding the Board with these images causes single images that people may have worked hard on to the lower pages. I have seen pictures beeing on page 2 within less than 5 hours. While the community will, in most cases, see this pictures anyway by clicking a single button, this may not be that huge of a problem as I think, but I think most artist want to have at least a little bit of Page 1 exposure, if only for 1-2 days.
2. It may actually lower the traffic on the artists webpage. This is mostly true for picture sets/mangas coming from pixiv and deviantart. They are pretty rare, but they do happen.
My idea would be to simply post one page of the Manga (the one where the mind_control happens) or one picture of a picture set and have the rest linked in the source. Some people already do it that way and it helps keeping the board a little bit less crowded. An exception could be made if the uploader is actually adding translation to the pictures he uploads or a Manga Series that only gets 1 picture every couple of weeks (adding 1 additional page and adding it to the pool of the manga doesn't flood the board).
This would also lower behaviour like uploading a whole Manga without tags and requesting a translation, which does happen as well.
What are your ideas? Are you fine with the way the board works and the amount of pictures, are you getting annoyed by floods or do you just not care? Do you have a better idea that this can be handled? If you do, feel free to post it below. I am especially interested in the opinion of fellow artists, when their picture gets pushed into page 3 within less than a day.
Please remember that a technical solution isn't something that will happen, because the board software isn't worked on anymore and a swap of software is not an option.
Thanks, and please keep the discussion on a constructive level. Bashing/Attacking people with a different opinion will not be tolerated.
