So, I think I just figured out something crucial -- there's a strong possibility that RMQ Project never really disappeared as a company.
When looking at the contact information for three different Japanese hypnosis series -- CHQ, HEX, and ANX (the last of which is still being released today) -- all three of them have the exact same phone number (03-XXXX-X245) as part of the company's contact information. I know this because I looked at the back covers of videos from each of them. Compare:
<<
pics.dmm.co.jp/mono/movie...3chq014/h_343chq014pl.jpg|CHQ-014>> (released in January of 2011)
<<
pics.vpdmm.cc/digital/vid...00008/h_443hex00008pl.jpg|HEX-008>> (released in December of 2012)
<<
pics.vpdmm.cc/digital/video/anx00065/anx00065pl.jpg|ANX-065>> (released more than three years after the final documented CHQ video, in October of 2015)
The company behind ANX (
Hypnosis Research Center Annex, with "Annex" being the likely word behind "ANX") nowadays doesn't use a phone number on the backs of their releases, but they do have a URL to their content <<
www.mousouzoku-av.com/works/list/maker/415|here>>.
There's also the fact that the overarching maker for the HEX series had a notably similar name to the group behind ANX, which was called
Hypnosis Research Institute. Furthermore, a separate series originally made by them, entitled "Hypnosis Poisoning/Addiction", later had many ANX videos affiliated with <<
jav.land/en/series/v2kz8v.html|the same series>>.
Lastly, two episodes from a different series by the Hypnosis Research Institute, listed as <<
jav.land/en/movie/javdpo22vl3.html|HMN-004>> and <<
jav.land/en/movie/javkw8ggzlp.html|HMN-005>>, have the exact same font and format as an RMQ Project video that's listed as <<
www.javlibrary.com/en/?v=javlip3m6u|CHQ-014>> (not to mention the fact that they have basically the same series title when translated). If you look closely at the pictures on HMN-005 and CHQ-014, too, you may notice that both groups of pornstars seem to be in the same bare-bones room with the blotchy paint on the walls.
~~
Here's what I'm trying to say, overall: I believe that RMQ Project rebranded a part or whole of themselves as the Hypnosis Research Institute, began releasing differently named series, and later transitioned into doing exclusively ANX content. I'm not sure as to how logically sound my hypothesis is, but it certainly feels and sounds more sturdy than just "RMQ Project just up and disappeared off the face of Japan and the porn industry."
