Anyone here play Guild Wars 2?
Anyone play Gw2? Its a really good MMO that went F2P a while ago, and I played till level 23 then went out and bought the expansion. Now im a level 45 Engineer and play pretty much every day. Just wondering really if anybody plays or is interested in doing Fractals / Dungeons / Raids once I reach level 80.

I do, although not very actively.

I'm on my 3rd alt, been trying to look at all the story choices so she's in the order of whispers since I already did the vigil and the priory.

Depends on what you're looking for. Compared to most MMOs? Yeah, pretty good. Perfect? No. They're pretty slow on balancing, but the core gameplay is solid.

Personally, as a non-mmo fan, I find it very fun. The world is nice and expansive, classes are all fun to play and unique, the story is actually really good and changes as time goes on. I really haven't had to grind with the exception of once because I didn't know story missions were a thing, but questing is easy as instead of constantly having to talk to people you just enter the area to do tasks. PvP is one of my main highlights, as everyone gets maxed stats and all skills become unlocked in PvP. PvP is more skill based in how you can use your skills in tandem with other skills than instead how much higher level you are than others. I personally very much recommend it even if you don't like MMO's. Also a lot of more experienced players are usually very nice to newer players so its easier more than ever to get into the game. Fair warning is that F2P restricts some things, but nothing all that major with the exception of the Heart Of Thorns Content.

So yeah I guess its good.

The core gameplay is solid, yes, but certainly not for everyone. I played GW2 back during release, and what bugged me the most was actually the combat. I found it...boring. I didn't like being restricted to what felt like only a handful of abilities on my bar at any time. And mid-combat bar-switching mechanics drive me insane - I need to be able to see all my abilities at the same time, I just need to.

The novelty of being able to be a dagger-wielding melee-mage (Dagger Elementalist) kept me going for a while, though, and the exploration and jumping puzzles in the game are great if you like that sort of thing.

I liked it, sank quite a few hours in the first few months of release, then I petered out. I have around 75-max level (I don't recall exactly, but they were high) of a Mesmer and Ranger, and anything else is 30s to 40s at best. I'd be interested in playing with other people.

Personally I'm not fond of Rogues or Necromancers, but to each their own. Elementalists and Engineers are interesting in having a heck of a lot of sets available, but Mesmer and Ranger just appeal with their abilities (although PvE Mesmer can be a bit tricky at times. Status effects like Confusion aren't as useful on Mobs as Players).
