Doctor Strange is nothing like the comics, but it's fantastic. I think it's my new fave Marvel movie, and I LOVE Spider-Man. The action was creative and inventive and the resolution was smart and satisfactory, and it looks absolutely beautiful. The humor and writing are on point, but the first villain is a touch weak. I'd still absolutely recommend it.

As far as MCU movies go, it's easily my favorite. It was just a great comic book movie; It was pretty terrific all around and Cumberbatch is easily one of the main reason why the whole affair works so well. Plus the trippy visuals and more standalone-ish vibe this one gives off than some of the other films.

Also watched Hell or High Water yesterday. Great action/crime flick. A lean and mean action/crime thriller with a solid cast, punchy action, good story and a surprisingly great sense of humor behind it. Don't be mistaken that the movie is a comedy; It's really bittersweet, but I was surprised at how many scenes I laughed at in the movie.

Well, to be fair, people seem alright with Yahweh in SMT having essentially the same goal, and it's not like it's even that uncommon a villain in a lot of different stuff (mostly JRPG and CRPGs, from what I know, but it's mostly just a really literal take on the antichrist as an archetype.)

I'm just happy to see Oda Nobunaga being Oda Nobunaga.

We had seen God being evil in different media and isn´t a uncommon idea, he is like the ultimate opressor the being that literally will trow us in hell if we disobey him but Jesus is a different story he is always the good guy, the generous and nice guy that died for our sins.

It's funny, I really want to join in on you all saying Doctor Strange is the best, but I'm sorry, the animated one is still far superior. Story and character wise, not visual wise though.

I just now watched the live action Jungle Book, I was skeptical about it but was pleasantly surprised by how good it actually was.

Watched Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy earlier today, enjoyed it a lot. Im not as knowledgeable on Ultraman lore but this movie really did a good job at introducing certain aspects of it to newcomers.

Class of Nuke'Em High just saw; not sure if it's exactly "MC," but buncha the kids in the film that were originally honor students were believed to have been turned into a violent gang. Only problem was how we never actually saw it happen, nor what they looked like before hand, so kinda annoying case where they shoulda showed, and not told us. Scene I kinda liked though was where some preppy girl ended up joining the gang after making out with one of the guys, but to say it was MC might be bit of a stretch... Eh, the theme of corruption's what I liked.

Rn watching second one on YouTube. Such a mess of a film, like for whatever reason they just threw in some random children (like middle school age) with roller-skates. <<youtu.be/00h7Ez87kqo?t=14m16s|They're just there, they got nothing to do with anything>> O_____o

I saw Moana the other day and it was simply amazing. It felt oddly different from most Disney movies, and I think I finally put my finger on it. Except for the beginning the story doesn't have any secondary characters, the story lives and breathes on the interaction between Moana and Maui. And it works.

So, I just got back from A Monster Calls.

Damn.

A better writer could give you a good explanation of why you need to see it without spoiling anything (looks at Contorted), but I can't. So. Do it. But it's not actually out yet. So. Do it. Later.

I just read a short synopsis and jeez man, I don't think I can handle that. This sounds like the kind of movie that's going to make me cry like a little bitch.
