Logan.
A Summary.
[spoiler=Spoilers][spoiler=No like, major fucking spoilers][spoiler=like, last 5 minutes spoilers][spoiler=spoilers on next click]
1st act and 2nd act were amazing barring a few issues
3rd act personally fell apart
NOTHING is explained in this movie. I can understand leaving things up to interpretation, but, when the entire context, and entire ending have no explanation, it just feels confused, and leaves so many fucking holes and unexplained solutions.
I refuse to believe that the ENTIRE MUTANT RACE would be wiped out by a soda can (also fuck you dont kinkshame me movie) especially considering OOPS YOU PUT CABLE IN DEADPOOL 2 EVEN THOUGH THE FUCKING FUTURE AND HANGS OUT WITH A BUNCH OF FUTURE MUTANTS and the whole fact that BEAST IS THERE?!
Speaking of Deadpool, where the fuck was he? And I'm not talking about the cameo he was supposed to have had, more, where like, IS he?
Also, WHERE WAS MR SINISTER?! You set up the ingredients for Mr Sinister, then DONT DO MR SINISTER?!?
X24, for a movie only concept is ok, the symbol of Logan's rage, anger, savagery, everything that defines him, yet haunts him. AND HES DEFEATED BY GETTING SHOT IN THE HEAD. It's like, one of the best episodes of Samurai Jack, <<
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysit-_pSyK0|the one with Mad Jack>>, but instead of him actually conquering a literal personal demon... it... kills him?
And yeah. Logan dies. [external screaming]
ANY story that kills Wolverine, did not understand Wolverine. Even good stories, like say, Xmen Forever, where there's good reason for it. It's fucking stupid, and goes against the point of the character. Logan will never rest. He cannot rest. He will live eternally and see everyone he loves die, over and over, in a never ending cycle. It's the key part of his character, and his solo adventures. It's what makes him interesting to read about. And he dies. And even still? The plot would have been better if he didn't.
One of the plot points of the film is Logan contemplating suicide. He's lost all reason to live, and he's ready to end his eternal cycle. The ending should have been him finding that reason to live, and moving on, and he does! But he dies! And it's just... Stupid!
Basically, the film sets up the perfect 3rd act, then completely falls flat on it's face.
On a side note, Steven Merchant is fucking wasted.
but god patrick stewart was good
