Yeah, I guess you could argue that his mere presence was badass, but to me it felt like he just stood around and told the Red Queen what to do the entire movie.

Logan was beautiful in its brutality and misery.

Wasn't a huge fan of Logan. I wouldn't really stop anyone who wanted to watch it, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it. Everyone was saying it "wasn't a superhero movie," but it totally was. Broke up the good character drama with stakeless action sequences that went on way too long. Better off watching something that is what Logan tried to be, but doesn't also try to be a superhero movie at the same time.

Logan.

A Summary.

1st act and 2nd act were amazing barring a few issues
3rd act personally fell apart

NOTHING is explained in this movie. I can understand leaving things up to interpretation, but, when the entire context, and entire ending have no explanation, it just feels confused, and leaves so many fucking holes and unexplained solutions.

I refuse to believe that the ENTIRE MUTANT RACE would be wiped out by a soda can (also fuck you dont kinkshame me movie) especially considering OOPS YOU PUT CABLE IN DEADPOOL 2 EVEN THOUGH THE FUCKING FUTURE AND HANGS OUT WITH A BUNCH OF FUTURE MUTANTS and the whole fact that BEAST IS THERE?!

Speaking of Deadpool, where the fuck was he? And I'm not talking about the cameo he was supposed to have had, more, where like, IS he?

Also, WHERE WAS MR SINISTER?! You set up the ingredients for Mr Sinister, then DONT DO MR SINISTER?!?

X24, for a movie only concept is ok, the symbol of Logan's rage, anger, savagery, everything that defines him, yet haunts him. AND HES DEFEATED BY GETTING SHOT IN THE HEAD. It's like, one of the best episodes of Samurai Jack, <<www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysit-_pSyK0|the one with Mad Jack>>, but instead of him actually conquering a literal personal demon... it... kills him?

And yeah. Logan dies. [external screaming]
ANY story that kills Wolverine, did not understand Wolverine. Even good stories, like say, Xmen Forever, where there's good reason for it. It's fucking stupid, and goes against the point of the character. Logan will never rest. He cannot rest. He will live eternally and see everyone he loves die, over and over, in a never ending cycle. It's the key part of his character, and his solo adventures. It's what makes him interesting to read about. And he dies. And even still? The plot would have been better if he didn't.

One of the plot points of the film is Logan contemplating suicide. He's lost all reason to live, and he's ready to end his eternal cycle. The ending should have been him finding that reason to live, and moving on, and he does! But he dies! And it's just... Stupid!

Basically, the film sets up the perfect 3rd act, then completely falls flat on it's face.

On a side note, Steven Merchant is fucking wasted.

but god patrick stewart was good

Saw Kong: Skull Island. Unlike the Peter Jackson Kong, which felt like it was trying to copy the original 30s movie too much, this rendition is solid and I'd recommend it to everyone. Good casting and a solid line up of actors, excellent cinematography and action sequences, and the creature design is really well done (not as great as some stuff from Uncle Guillermo, but still well done).

Much like the 2014 Godzilla movie, this movie does a good job in hooking those who might not be big Kong fans, and makes them enjoy and get pumped during the movie. Considering that the movie does take place in the same cinematic universe as Godzilla 2014, this is a good thing, as it makes it that much more likely for what the production staff has planned: eventually doing a Godzilla vs King Kong movie (this is just simple production banter, keep in mind, and in no way an indication that it's going to happen. Yet.). I'm not even that big of a fan of King Kong, yet this movie really made me enjoy the big guy and hope for a sequel.
The photojournalist and the ex British military tracker are put into an interrogation room at Monarch's headquarters. Two other characters who were with them on Skull Island then enter after a minute and show them that Kong isn't the only 'giant creature that is likely to take the planet back from humans', and shows slides of cave paintings showing Godzilla, RODAN, MOTHRA, GHIDORAH, AND THEN THE BIG FOUR IN A BRAWL.

MOTHERFUCKING DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, RIGHT THERE. I STILL HAVE THIS MASSIVE KAIJU BONER, AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT.
I watched Logan at the weekend. Good movie, the characters were all solid and it was definately a great continuation to Wolverine's arc over the course of the X-men movies. The little girl and her interactions with Hugh Jackman were great, which is a relief given the usual child-actor problems in movies like this. People I know were disapointed that it wasn't more of a 'superhero' movie, no big action setpieces or supervillains, but I thought the small-scale brutal fist/clawfights suited the general tone they had very well.

I also saw Seven Samurai but since that's not exactly a recent movie I won't go into detail, good though.

How about that Kyuzo tho?

Kyuzo is the best character. I liked him a bit more than Toshiro Mifune's guy.

I also saw Kong (which was pretty good) and I saw Apocalypse Now which was great.

I decided to watch an old childhood movie; Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. Man, I'm glad that it still holds up to this day. No wonder it's considered the movie that revitalised the series. Also, "It's Terror Time" is a really catchy song! I can't stop singing it in my head.

I'm planning to watch them in order, so next is... The witch's ghost. I think that's the one with the Hex girls (man these memories are just coming back to me.)

Something I didn't know was that these 4 movies were made by a japanese company called Mook Animation.

So, Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, The alien one I'm forgetting the name of, and Cyber Chase were all made by this company. These were considered to be some of the greater entries into the series and I'm sad CN didn't do anything more with the company.

Also, I never saw Mystery Inc. I heard it's supposed to be good. Any thoughts?

Mystery Inc. was so fucking good if you're willing to accept

A. Ongoing story arcs
B. Blatent shipping
C. <<static2.fjcdn.com/comment...a76455226bdd3242163cf.jpg|Exploitable jokes>>
