The main antagonist of Super Mario Bros., and Mario's arch-nemesis. He is the Koopa King and commands most of Mario's enemies in his plans to overthrow the Mushroom Kingdom.
His plots almost always involve kidnapping Princess Peach, and not infrequently involve mind control. However, he usually does not have any mind control powers himself.
Known as Koopa (クッパ) in Japanese.
