Was receding into my usual hole of disappointment until I saw that the game will actually recieve a PC release. This is (Probably) great news!

Remember the Law of Sonic, folks. Every Sonic game sucks until it is released, where it may or may not be proven to not suck.

Christian Whitehead is so freaking badass, he saw the unemulatable mess that was Sonic CD and said "fine. I'll build it from the ground up. Add Tails and fix the shitty spindash issue."

I would trust that man with my life.

Also I guess I'm Sonic trash again. I thought playing all the major releases and watching Sonic Boom the TV Show (which is incredible) made me a fan... but no. I've not felt like this in 11 years. I am legitimately hopeful and excited for a Sonic game. Normally I'm just resigned to the idea of playing it and enjoy what I can. Right now? I want this game almost as much as Persona5, Ace Attorney 6 and Danganronpa V3.

I want Sonic Mania now. When I saw that the guy who made the amazing port of Sonic CD was collaborating on this game, I knew this wasn't going to be another Sonic 4. That makes me immensely happy. Sega, you have an insanely passionate fanbase. And some of those people, like Christian Whitehead, are genuinely talented. It might be a good idea to take advantage of that more often.

Super excited for Project 2017 AKA Sonic Generations 2 as well, but I must see more.

Am I the only one who hates Sonic CD? IMO there wasn't a single decent Sonic game released between Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic Colors.

Honestly, I would disagree -- the period of time between S3&K and Colors (inclusive) was when the ONLY good Sonic games were released.
That being said, I am looking at Project 2017 with cautious optimism. If it's back to Colors and Generations style, it oughta be good...even if the inclusion of Classic Sonic makes me worry.

I stopped following Sonic games after Sonic 3 and Knuckles. But that game (or, two games, technically) is basically my Sega Genesis in childhood.

So I'll agree there. I loved the first 3 (4) Sonic games.

As far as Project2017 is concerned, I was just annoyed to find out that Classic Sonic is back again, for some reason. I see a move like that as something that you only get to do once. But of course, I may just be a little salty that it's not Tails (because nobody there seems to remember that he's good for anything other than tinkering with machines.) So... meh. I guess that's what Mania is for.

As for Mania, I like that other members of the cast are getting some love, for once (especially Knuckles.) Aside from that, I don't really have much else to say. It looks nice.

I don't really know why I'm bothering about this, though. It's not like I have either of the consoles these games are going to be on, but it's gonna be fun to watch what comes of this, regardless.

CD was released BEFORE S3&K though?

Whaaat?! Nope nope - Sonic ceased being good when they made it 3D, clunky and filled with humans. Aka Sonic Adventure. The only good Sonic games are the first ones and the 2D ones like Advance and Generations, in my opinion.

Frankly Freedom Planet did Sonic better than Sonic ever did...
